Well it had to happen sometime

One of the best formula one racing drivers Michael Schumacher has retired.

Yesterday was his final race.

Check these stats out for a hell of a career.

He has been in F1 for 15 years from 1991 to 2006.
Raced for 3 teams, Jorden (1 race only), Benetton (1991 to 1995) and Ferrari (1995 to 2005)

He has amassed 91 race wins, 68 Pole positions, and 76 fastest laps. He has been in an amazing 250 races and finally has been world champion 7 times.

He will always be remembered as one of the best i think. Even though he only finished 4th in his last race. A puncture on the second lap forced him down to last but he managed to claw his way back through the field. At one point he was taking a place every lap. As he crossed the line the entire crowd was on its feet cheering him. It will long be remembered as the best race of the season i think.

Very impressive. I knew of him, of course, but not of all those statistics. Wow!

Tough when it does, but you are right - he was one of the great F1 drivers!
