and is released by police after telling them it was a prank.

One report of this story (http://www.kirotv.com/news/9627760/detail.html?rss=sea&psp=southsoundnews)

Another version (which used to be almost identical to the first one posted) (http://www.king5.com/localnews/stories/NW_102006WABgorillaEL.592fa02e.html)

How could this guy ever be released just by saying this was a prank?

(This happened about 20 miles from my house.)

I sent the Lakewood Police Department an email today that said almost the exact same thing, but in much less direct way.

I doubt I was the only one.

The father reached his son before the police and passed the moment of 'justice'.

Daaaaaamn! What had to happen to actually charge him?

The vid wouldn't load up for me (stuck at the very end...twice), but I heard the news report while I waited for the vid to load).

"Oh...HEY! I got this kooky idea! Where can I get a gorilla suit? Peeps will laugh their asses off at this one!"

Why was it a 5y/o and not a 15y/o who could kick his ass (if necessary).

How is it that WE can see his ulterior motives...but the authorities and media make it out to be a prank? I wanna know what the abductor said when he was questioned! I WANNA KNOW! Aside from the fact that we know he said it was a joke...when the kid screamed for his life...I want to know what the abductor said to (a) calm the child (b)make him hide the facts!

Can you say, "Death Penalty" anyone?????????

OK...so according to Megan's Law...shouldn't the asshole have to register now? Is Megan's law country-wide?

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Not much infuriates me more than this shit!

It does seem criminal. I am surprised he was initially released.

I love how in schools teachers can't even touch children to check for headlice, without it being considered some kind of criminal offence and infringement on human rights, but a weirdo in a costume can terrify a child into screaming for help and call it a 'prank'.

If he doesn't end up being prosecuted I hope the parents sue the arse off him for emotional distress.

I can only imagine what I'd do to someone who did that to my child....whatever it was, you can bet he'd never dare set foot outside his own front door again, let alone pull a stupid prank like that on anyone else.

If that'd happened in Georgia the police would have arrested one gorilla whipping father and sent the bloody gorilla to the ER. Prank this muthaf_____!

Wrong attitude folks!!

All it takes is a dozen right minded folks in gorilla costumes to scare the shit out of this guy, noose and all, and see how funny he finds it.

Like unto like?
