I'm so anxious to see this one. Has anyone gone yet? I'm a huge fan of the art from the time of the Harlem Renaissance (sp? I looked the word up 4 times :pit just looks off still).

It has some current musicians in it and I think it looks to be a damn good time. Mr. Lil is taking me out for dinner and a movie this weekend.

I listened to a long report on National Public Radio on the actual Idlewild and the upcoming movie. Was very interesting, so I hope that the movie does the history justice

Interesting. I was just reading about the current revival (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/from_our_own_correspondent/5305916.stm) of what has been one of NYC’s seedier districts.

I watched something about a women's business orginazation that has the goal of moving more up-scale business to that area. The main focus was a wine store that was owned and operated by an African American woman, who used to be a stock broker I believe. No burglar bars, no little booth for sales. Wood everything and wine tastings open to the community.

Wow did that surprise me!! It's not at all about Harlem. If this film does not win awards for editing a cinematography I'll be shocked.
