Are relationships like cooking where too much spice too early ruins the dish?

Zest early builds interest and mystery. Later on, too much "spice" and mystery can be destructive...depends on how the couple wants to run their relationship.

anything's possible.

everyone is different. if it doesn't suit the couple, the relationship will end. if it does, then it won't.

i think it's something you can only find out on an individual - or rather, collective - basis

I like spice. Before during after. But if you throw too much spice in every dish then my taste buds will crave something savory. My theory is to just make sure all spice is followed up promptly with ice cream. Ice cream is the answer to all relationship prooblems.

With cooking, I've found that spice is something that is definately there but not so strong that you can taste only that. It needs to be in balance with the whole dish.

As for sex...Ice cream. :p

Wow, I had never though of that particular metaphor before.

Before I met Leigh, the great love of my life was Frances, who incidentally is a chef. (she was a student when we first met).
She had a passion for cooking, atttention to the tiniest detail, loved variety, occasional a spicy surprise, understood presentation, the importance of the other person, the "customer", not to over spice, over stir, or overcook something, and every meal was a wonder...

Am I still talking about cooking, or love and relationships?

YES love and relationships are SO MUCH like cooking.

Hungrily,
