TinTennessee tells the truth

TT has allowed me to bear more sad news to our community. :(

When she shared with us in another thread, that she had “ lost two men dear to me in just a matter of days and I don't know if I can deal with it.”, she was mustering her all and sincere in her statement.

The other man was her dad. He passed away at 01:00 yesterday, after finding out for the first time, a week ago today, that he was dying of terminal cancer.

I have no words to express my sorry for her or to bring the comfort and security I want her to feel.

My thoughts of peaceful and happy memories being sent your way! I know the feeling of sudden loss. I can only say that in time the sadness fades and is replaced with a sudden smile over a simple memory that may mean nothing to anyone but you and the loved one lost. I like to think it's their way of saying "I'm with you always"!

Last night was the funeral service for my dad and I handled things reasonably well. You see, I know in my heart that he is in a much better place, no longer in pain. It is the ones left behind that feel the hurt and sadness, the ones left who wish that had made more time, done more, been there more. I am sad for what I didn't have with my dad and what could have been.

Today we buried him, full military funeral, 21 gun salute and Taps. I and my children were doing fine until the sad, sad sound of Taps was played and then we all fell apart, but we are strong..heck my kids call me Wonder Woman and I can handle anything.

The one good thing that has come from this is that it has brought me much closer to my half brothers (three of them) who I adore and who I vow to spend more time with. My kids will not grow up without their uncles as I had to.
