Am I the only American who is suddenly enthralled with soccer?

I don't w3atch the Super bowl for anything other then the commercials and maybe that is the beauty of this game. People who seems to be about the sport and not the revenue (as much).

I was devastated for the English team. To have Renoldo have been the one that secured their fate was heartbreaking.

I know we still have France & Brazil to play but who are your bets to make the finals?

That match was the first one that I've watched. It was a heck of a match..... I think penalty kicks are a gut wrenching way to lose (or win).

well, i'm english and there was a irritating familiarity to it all.

i thought we were lack-lustre until we lost Beckham and Rooney. With Owen aready injured in the last match, the 3 big morale boosters were gone and i would have expected us to fold rapidly.

So what a pleasant suprise that England fought so strongly... and probably ultimately deserved to win.

My nails are bitten, my pulse is still racing. I don't think i can cope with watching Wimbledon. My nerves are shot!

Another American here that has been watching the World Cup religiously, Lilith.

I expected Brazil to play better than they did today. But personally, I think it will be Italy vs. France in the end.

it'd be nice if France won again as there star player retires after this.

I think Germany are going to win it. They're at home and they've been playing well - I just think it's going to go their way.

I'm heartbroken that Brazil are out...I love Ronaldino with a slightly worrying passion....he definitely wins the prize for being the most fuckable ugly guy on the face of the planet!

LOL

I swear a team of five-year-olds could have won against Brazil. I assumed they'd win the Cup. I also assumed Argentina would still be in contention.

I took this week off to watch the finals.

I just want Portugal to lose because they have the most annoying fans. Honk honk honk!

I'm going for France because of Zidane.
