i try to be zen-ly philosophical, but usually i throw things and cry.
when i'm over that nonsense, i try and fix it or at least fix it so i can cope.

A paperwork snafu that took me 3 weeks to do originally and involves 8 parent conferences that will have to be redone. And well the parents I deal with are less than cooperative. I think what aggravates me the most is 1. it was preventable 2. I am the only one who used the computer software they encouraged us to use 3. it means I will have to redo a ton of other paperwork that used this paperwork as it's supporting foundation.

ah, in that case, it's something i'd keep in my score file - school: -2 (counting the job take-backsies) - and grin an evil grin contemplating payback. :D
no need for sorries here, lil. you're allowed to whine to your family.

Whining is allowed from time to time when it's a really big deal. So vent and get it all out. :)

I feel for ya Lil...I run an online charity auction on ebay each year to raise money for a cancer charity and I pre-listed 43 items for the auction start next week and Ebay took them down due to policy changes without even giving me a chance to correct whatever mistakes they claim I made....I have 42 of the items relisted - what a p.i.t.a.
sending hugs your way

If you can't bitch and whine to your family (i.e., US!), to whom can you bitch and whine? Go ahead!
We love you all the same.

From the way you describe it, I wouldn't call it whining at all...you've been royally fucked over a couple of times in the last few, & you're entitled to piss & moan a little...the squeaky wheel gets the grease...I've just come thru a similar clusterfuck in my job as well...I was sent out with 2 small packages to an address that was supposed to be in a suburb about 30 miles away, turned out to be 20 miles further out in the next freakin' county...when I got my pay settlement later, I found I was paid a pittance amount that didn't even cover the cost of the gas one-way...I squawked about it to the sup, & it turns out this same run has been getting passed around like a hot potato for some time, no one ever estimated the proper milage on it before I kicked up a fuss...I will be getting a proper compensation on a future check, & this run will finally pay its own way from now on...
In the meantime, get it outta your system, rant & rave & kick & scream & cry, then suck it up & get over it... ;)
aarrgghhh ... you deserve to whine about this!!! ... sorry you have to go through it ... usually, like you ... I just get to the work ... but I do usually whine a bit to myself when I'm alone! :) (substitute "a bit" with "extensively for a few hours" for the accurate picture)

I'm at the "suckin' it up" place now. Thanks. I just don't understand why I try so hard. Today I am putting in a 13 hour day. That should surely give me time to work on fixing it all http://smilies.vidahost.com/contrib/lilly/sad1green.gif

More (((( HUGS )))) from your friends at Pixies.
Just realize that ten years from now ... no one ... well, almost no one ... er ... okay maybe only six or seven will remember this.
Don't you feel better already? :)

One of the things that drives Mrs. WI so crazy about me is my tireless tongue and the full feeling she gets from the large diameter of my penis.
Where was I going with this?
Oh yeah, I got it. Another thing that drives her crazy is that I don't rant and rave when things like that happen. My usual response is "Ok, so it's the monumental lack of foresight or planning on someone else's behalf that is behind it. That it wasn't my fault doesn't change the fact that it has to be done." And I go do it. I'm not excited about having to redo it, but bottom line: It needs to be done and I'm the one that has to do it.

Lilith,
What you should realy do to relieve your stress is strip totally nude, take lots of pics, and post them to Pixie's.

A nice stiff adult beverage always helps and then do exactly what you are doing now - get on with it. A nice letter/conversation with the one(s) who screwed up initially when you finish might be in order. I take great pride in doing that - letting them know that all my extra work was completed....then see if they get the hint! Try the guilt trip - it just might tell you something about those you work for/with
