Economist and iconic liberal John Kenneth Galbraith died on Saturday in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was 97 years old.
An articulate advocate of government action to solve social problems, he taught at Harvard University for 27 years. Dr. Galbraith wrote more than 30 books on socio-economic issues, the most well know being “The Affluent Society” in 1958. President Kennedy made him the US Ambassador to India.
His voice will be missed from the Great Debate.
