Yes, it's a very big thing, with "Birth of Nation" strong overtones.

Interestingly, it was also taken as the birthplace of modern Turkey under Kemal Attaturk.

They have ANZAC Day marches or parades

Catafalque ~ A ceremonial role honouring the dead

Flags are at half mast

Wreaths and flowers laid on graves and memorials of the fallen

Poppies are laid at the Tomb of the Unknown Australian Soldier or at the Roll of Honour

The Last Post never fails to give me goosebumps!
