Just curious who you listen to. I was reading this (http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/Music/04/13/roth.radio.ap/index.html) story and thinking about the guys I listen to in the morning. Do you listen to something syndicated or to local DJs? I listen to Lex & Terry (http://www.lexandterry.com/) which is both for me. They are from a town about 2 hours away.

I listen to a local braodcast on KQRS (http://www.92kqrs.com/morningshow.asp) Between thier commentaries on local, national and world event, thier suprior interviews and make me laugh out loud bits. It's a regular ritual for me.

I have listened to The Bob Rivers Show (http://www.bobrivers.com) for, damn, 14 or 15 years and they air on KZOK (http://www.kzok.com). They are now also syndicated in Portland, OR. Bob Rivers is also fairly well known for his Twisted Tunes, especially the Christmas songs like "Walking 'round in women's underwear". Check out his site and listen to some of the song parodies... you won't regret it. :D

I was thinking about starting a thread about morning guys! I love the oldies station guys. The head guy is open about kicking hard drugs & makes fun of himself all the time whilst making fun of Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, etc. They totally crack me up.

I can cope with the locals for a little time, but when they become too inane I just swap to mp3.

I remember Bob Rivers from his stint at WIYY(98 Rock) in Baltimore and you're right, he is verry funny. His twisted tunes are hilarious and I still remember his on air marathon during the Orioles 0 -21 losing streak!!! I was sorry he left town,no one has come close to his sense of humor on 98 Rock since his departure.
Today...morning drive guys tend to get on my nerves more than make me laugh.I either listen to ESPN Radio or play my own mp3's

The only station we get in at work anouced about 6 months that they were going DJ free. Now they just play music and we get to here lame prerocorded anouncements.

I've grown very tired of the clowns who think it's more fun to listen to them laugh at their own jokes than just hear some good music in between traffic & weather reports, the local airwaves are polluted with John Boy & Billy, Bob & Tom, Rick & Bubba, ad nauseum...OTOH, we've also recently been treated to the Oldies station switching over suddenly without warning to the automated JACK_FM format, which just galled me to no end...my personal choice is our unique adult alt/ progressive rock station WRLT, which just plays the best of the old & new with the pleasantly soft-spoken Mary Brace as host...& of course, Parker Gudinoff (get it?) with the traffic...
