/me goes to find her "Homer Hankie" and cry...
back in the day, he WAS the whole reason why i was a Twins fan. Gawd, this sucks!
R.I.P. Kirby.A great player and a great person.
Baseball has lost another class act in a time when very few remain. :(
God Bless ya Kirby, and thanks for the memories.

I will fondly remember Kirby Puckett the baseball player. His heroics repeatedly ruined things for my Tigers especially in '87. He was fun to watch and truly loved the game.
In his later years his on the field persona came under attack due to off the field problems including divorce, sexual assault and other problems. Still he was elected to the baseball Hall of Fame.
His career was cut short due to glaucoma, but Kirby was and will always be one of the greats of the game

More than the ball player I remember the man. He was a man's man and a hero to many - one of the good guys who was a hero to many

Hated the Twins for beating my Braves in the '91 "worst to first" series, but it was pure respect for KP, who always seemed be a true class act...
