The widow of the late Dr. King died in her sleep last night. She was 78 years old.
She met her future husband (then a doctoral candidate at Boston University's School of Theology) in Boston in 1951, while enrolled at Boston's New England Conservatory of Music where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree.
Mrs. King, the founding president of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change (http://www.thekingcenter.org/tkc/index.asp), carried on her husband's work after he was assassinated in 1968.
