If you do use it, what kind do you or your partner use?
I haven't used any type of birth control for years. Started using condoms recently (wow, they reallyyyyy do take away alot of the feelings) and now am about to start taking the pill continuously to keep my endometriosis from starting back and well........to keep from getting pregnant.
Maybe this is too personal to ask but thought I would anyway. :o

Not too personal at all!
I use NuvaRing...which is a small plastic ring that you insert into your vagina for 3 weeks. It's not even noticable -- unless you've got fingers in there, and even then it's no bother :D
You take it out for a week for your period and then insert a new one. No long-term effects so you can get pregnant after only a couple of weeks of stopping it. And it's simple! only have to think about it twice a month!
I highly recommend looking into it if you can... www.nuvaring.com

Have you considered a diaphragm or it that too old-school?

I take seasonale - it's a 3 month pill rather than one month pill. I'm not sure if you can take it while breastfeeding. I know that I love it. My only problem is I currently don't need birth control, so sometimes forget to take it which leads to spotting that can be inconvenient - but I imagine all forms of "the pill" will cause this problem.

First of all, Kudos to you for still Breastfeeding!!! (I am a serious breastfeeding advocate)
Second, I use the Depo Provera shot. i like that i don't have to go in the hut :) but for some women, not having a monthly is bothersome to them.
I have done a little research on birth control and breastfeeding and moms that exclusively B-feed are naturally infertile until baby starts eating other things. (It is called the LAM method) Otherwise, it is adviseable that barrier methods come next (which you and Mr. IWM have already done) so the next BC method is a Progesterone/Progestin-hormone method. these include the progestin-only pill (POP) also called the "mini-pill" (Micronor, Errin, Nor-QD, Ovrette, Microval, etc), the birth control injection (Depo Provera), the progesterone-releasing IUD (Mirena, Progestasert), the birth control implant (Norplant, Implanon).
the estrogen containing methods slow or decrease milk production.
the Progesterone BC methods also are helpful with endometriosis, in that it helps to decrease the endometrial lining.
more than likely your doc put you on a progesterone pill, but i would check just to be sure
Good Luck Gorgeous Momma!

Well, we went from The Pill to Condoms. We hated the Condoms...spoiled the mood for me...so I went and had a vasectomy as we were done with having kids.

Mrs. Bare had to stop the pill a couple of years ago due to the high blood pressure medicine so we've relied on condoms mostly. Every now and then though we use that foam stuff but it really interrupts the mood.
You are right about the loss of feeling

i used to be on the pill...stopped taking them many years ago to get preggers and never went back on. i'd like to take them again but i'm getting to that age where it isn't recommended, especially cause i smoke. we use rubbers now and it doesn't break the mood for us but i reall miss him being able to cum inside me. the ones we do use definitely feel different than the real thing but they aren't that bad (for me anyway :D:p ). they're durex mutual pleasure or something like that and there's another one i like, also durex but i can't remember the name. we had a multi-pack and i can tell you it was the ones with the red and the ones with the yellow foils that i liked the best. lol. i'll check the naughty drawer and see if i can get the name later. i hate the ones that are lubed and we definitely avoid those 'make you last longer' ones, they have some sort of numbing stuff on 'em...damn they suck.
i'm still trying to convince bb to get fixed. :D:D:D

Mrs. WI never liked the idea of chemically altering her body so we used condoms. After we had our mutually agreed upon three children, I got snipped.

Recently I started Ortho Tri Cyclen and have gained almost 15 pounds in 3 weeks on them, i'm going to talk to the doctor within the week.......good luck on your quest because i know something went wrong with mine somewhere.

I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen, and it was horrible on my body, I felt like I was going through menapause, even tho I am so young (21) I wouldn't know what that was like anyway... Point of the story, I got hot flashes, gained weight, got horrible headaches, and was in a lot of pain.
My doctor switched me to Yasmin, and I love it. I went up a whole bra size on it... Now I know this is not what your looking for, but I do think you can use it while you breast feed, but I could be mistaken... look into it tho, cause I have really liked it.
I still don't let anyone cum in me tho, I use condoms on top, just in case there is that slight chance that I didn't take the pill right... or some other horrible possibility. For me right now, No Husband equals You Better Not have a Kid... my family would disown me.
~Good Luck!~

Thanks again..........dr. gave me Yasmin. I decided to just wait for a bit before taking any pills...
Hugs to you all.
I use the "pull and pray" method, so far it's worked for me..lmao

I have been on Ortho Cyclen for about 3 years now. I did gain about 5-10 pounds the first couple of months I used it, but after that I had no more weight gain. I think it is wonderful - it almost completely cleared up my acne! And before I was on the pill, the first day of my period was soooo rough (fever, puking, all that good stuff), but now it's like any other day in the month. Also, before the pill, I had horrible terrible moodswings - not anymore, thank god! I call them my miracle pills :D
