Have you ever liked a song and had no idea in holy hell why you like it? Do you think it's indicative of some part of the music appealing to something in your subconscious? Or is it a rhythm thing? Please tell me I'm not the only one.

Your not the only one Lil.....:)

I don't like rap songs but I really like the beat to some of them.

OK I'm admitting it. I sing the fuck out of this song

"Mary's Prayer"

Everything is wonderful
Being here is heavenly
Every single day, she says
Everything is free

I used to be so careless
As if I couldn't care less
Did I have to make mistakes?
When I was Mary's prayer

Suddenly the heavens rolled
Suddenly the rain came down
Suddenly was washed away
The Mary that I knew

So when you find somebody who gives
Think of me and celebrate
I made such a big mistake
When I was Mary's Prayer

So if I say save me save me
Be the light in my eyes
And if I say ten Hail Mary's
Leave a light on heaven for me

Blessed is the one who shares
The power and your beauty,
Mary Blessed is the millionaire
Who shares your wedding day

So when you find somebody to give
Think of me and celebrate
I made such a big mistake
When I was Mary's Prayer

If you want the fruit to fall
You have to give the tree a shake
But if you shake the tree too hard,
The bough is gonna break

And if I can't reach the top of the tree
Mary you can hold me up there
What I wouldn't give to be
When I was Mary's prayer

Save me, save me
Be the light in my eyes
What I wouldn't give to be
When I was Mary's prayer

What I wouldn't give to be
When I was Mary's prayer
What I wouldn't give to be (save me)
When I was Mary's prayer

Well if we are going to be honest I find myself singing Roger Miller songs quite regulary.......anytime and anywhere. It has proven to be at times a source of embarassment but I really don't care :) My grandson is quite partial to King of the Road! Poor kid lol. Those are from the sixties.

The one from the eighties that replays alot with me is by Concrete Blonde

Joey, baby - don’t get crazy
Detours. fences... I get defensive
I know you’ve heard it all before -
So I don’t say it anymore
I just stand by and watch you
Fight your secret war.
Although I used to wonder why -
I used to cry till I was dry.
Still sometimes I get a strange pain
Inside
Oh, joey, if you’re hurting so am i.

Joey, honey - I got some money
All is forgiven. listen, listen
And if I seem to be confused
I didn’t mean to be with you.
And when you said I scared you,
Well I guess you scared me too.
But we got lucky once before
And if you’re somewhere out there
Passed out on the floor.
Oh joey, I’m not angry anymore.

It's not so bad. My Grams had 3 8-tracks to her name; Camelot, Robert Goulet, and Jim Neighbors. I can sing everything on those things to this day and will admit a wicked childhood crush on Gomer Pyle USMC

Ok, my guilty pleasure was playing on "Jack" the other day...George Micheal aka Wham! "Careless Whisper"...I know, so sappy it should induce nausea, & so syrupy it should send me into diabetic coma...but somehow, I can't resist it..."guilty feet have got no rhythm"...jeez louise, what stupid lyrics...
