… that “The Phantom of the Opera” replaces “Cats” as the longest running Broadway show. Congratulations to Lord Lloyd-Webber. Quite a success story!
What's your favorite play or musical?

I have sooooooooooooo many. "Into the Woods", "Le Miserables", and "My Fair Lady (Pygmalion)" are some of my all time favorites but right now my uber favorite is "Wicked". I love the story. I have only heard the music and read the script so far. I DESPERATELY want to actually SEE the play one day. But right now I can't find it anywhere on vhs or dvd and the nearest place to go see it is about 500 miles from here. Meh...Mississippi for ya...

Thanks for the info jseal. Actually Phantom of the Opera is my favorite. I read the orriginal book and got to see the play on Broadway when I was a senior in High School. I would have LOVED to see it with Michael Crawford as the Phantom though.
I did like the movie okay... (the newest version) it had it good and bad points. But nothing will replace the thrill I had when I first saw the infamous chandelier come to life right before my eyes.

Favourite play would have to be either 'The Importance of Being Earnest' or perhaps 'MacBeth'.
Not really a stage musical fan, and in general I hate Lloyd Webber (just makes me cringe) so I'd have to say something like Grease or Oliver would be my favourite musical films.
