Well, it is by the by-now heavily modified Christain calendar. Of course, I'm Celtic and Pagan, so the new year started back in November for me.
Let's see, we have coming up at the end of this month...
Chinese (Lunar) New Year
Muslim New Year
then there's the old Roman New Year (March)
Long about September, the Jewish New Year
Late December, the Wiccan New Year
This is cool, all year long we get excuses to throw New Year's parties. Let's all do it!
