I was truly verklempt by Dick Clark not abandoning his post as the official US ambassador of the New Year. I am so grateful to have him around to count down with me one more year. He showed great spirit and determination to just show up. Anyone else tear up or just me?

I was amazed and totally inspired by him. Growing up watching him countdown to new years is something that I will always associate with some very good memories. Yes, I teared up a little...

He is an amazing guy. Things just won't be the same some day when his time comes. We used to love American Bandstand.

I thought it took a lot of courage for him to come back, after his stroke and re-teaching himself to speak. He did a great job, and you could hear the significance of the moment in his speech....I thought it was very touching

How did he look and sound? I wasn't able to see him, but I'm glad to hear that he was able to make it back.
I make a lot of jokes about him being a robot or such because he hasn't changed in 40 years, but in all honesty New Years wouldn't be the same without him.
