I make fancy finger foods and we watch movies, then watch the ball drop. At midnight I kiss all my lovies.

My New Years Eve will be spent watching TV until around 9 when I go to bed as I have to be at work the next morning at 4

I also make a bunch of finger foods and dips. A co-worker gave me a recipe for reuben dip that is served with party size rye bread that I am going to try out this year.

We watch movies and then watch the ball drop... I am afraid that not all of my lovies are willing to take kisses : ( other than Cobalt and my daughter but we say we love each other in the old year and once the new year starts we say it again. : )

Mr. Lixy and I hardly ever go out on NY's Eve anymore since he's had his CDL with the Hazmat endorsement. One drink and one pull over and I'll be baking a cake with a file in it for him! He just recently had to go get fingerprinted for F.B.I. files and then again for Homeland Security files. YIKES!

But we might test the waters this year, because we haven't seen our bestest friends yet in this holiday season due to Rocky's illness. We have X-mas pressie's for them and we miss the stuffins outta them too!

Here's an extremely easy "finger" food to try if anyone needs to make something for the evening but is short of time.

"Mary's Easy Cheeseball" (my mother-in-law)

3 pks cream cheese...8 oz. each...softened
2 pks. dried beef...finely diced...reserve 1/3 (found in the isle with packaged deli meat)
4-5 scallions...finely chopped...green tops only (may omit or use more if preferred)
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. Accent® flavor enhancer (optional if not available)

Mix softened cream cheese, dried beef, scallions, garlic salt and Accent in a bowl as if making a meat loaf. Form into a ball instead of a loaf. Roll ball in reserved dried beef. Serve at room temperature with a variety of crackers.

Easy as hell ^^^ but the raves about it will make you the hit of the party!

My Mum and I are hosting a party at her house for all my luvvie friends (from my drama group! LOL).....we'll eat drink and dance until midnight, and then ring the new year in with a rousing rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody the way we always do no doubt.

Every year, we have a huge-assed all weekend party. Right now, my family room is full of people I can't stand, and I didn't invite, and I don't want here. Fucking hate having housemates sometimes.

Usually we go over to a friend's house....since they had their first baby 4 years ago, they don't want to go out...so we go and keep 'em company.

BUT this year we're in SF and they're in Ohio ~~ so we'll probably stay home.

Well, this year we (4 of us) are going out to a restaurant in a nearby village, which my daughter absolutely adores!

We'll work through a 5-course meal (gulp!) and a bunch of singing, dancing and the like..... finally fall into bed about 3a.m.!!

Im working until 7pm GMT tonight after getting in at 1am due to a shift fuck up at work so ill prolly just chill out at home. If i miss the new year here ill wake up at 11:30 Iowa time and wait for the phone call from my love and celebrate it then lol.

We've made munchies and venison chili and of course a bottle of extra dry Champagne for a quiet night of movies and maybe some wrestling between the sheets!!

Lixy~ Thanks for the cheeseball recipe

Here's a simple recipe I'm trying out tonight~

Mushroom Pate on Pumpernickel Toast Points

1 13.5 oz. can of mushrooms drained (I used the stems and pieces)
2 T of mayo (I used light stuff)
1 small can Durkee Fried Onions
3 T. grated/shredded Romano cheese ( you could probably substiture any dry kind you like, maybe even Swiss)

In food processor blend mushrooms and mayo to form a paste. Add onions and cheese pulse just to crunch up onions and mix in cheese. Can be store in fridge until ready to use.

Toast party sized pumpernickel under broiler for a few minutes just to crisp. Schmear the pate on the toast and put back under the broiler.

I haven't tried them yet but they sound yum, like stuffed mushrooms without the work.

It’s 03:45 now and just got in and undressed.
I watched a room full of people in one of our upscale hotels have a wonderful time and dance their hearts put and feet off until 02:00, to the music we played tonight. :)

I called my son at exactly 23:31 to wish him a happy birthday and the rest of the family, a happy new year. :D

I did my last DJ gig and it got me into 2006.
I didn’t know it was my last one until I just sat down here. LMAO

Late post here, I know, but I was doing much the same as PF...me & the band played for a New Year's party, 4 dirty old men watching the girls shake their moneymakers till well after midnite...didn't get any titty flashers :( but I did get rubbed on by a cute lil hussy who joined us onstage, & also got a big hug & a kiss from the guitar player's cute lil niece (who hosted the party) cuz I let her sing a duet with me...a splendid time was had by all...got home about 2 am, tired but exhilerated, & found Mrs Zoid waiting up for me, & she was also in the mood for a lil private party...now that's the way to ring in the new year ;)
