Me! Me! Me!
The kids and I saw it Saturday. I thought it was a pretty darn good interpretation/presentation of my most favoritest book of childhood. My eight-year old son, who'd read the book a few months ago, LOVED it. I purposely hadn't re-read it prior to seeing the film...which means the last time I read it was probably 25 years ago. :D
Yeah, I was ALMOST tempted to stay and watch it again, as my children begged me to do. ;)

My wife and I went on Saturday and we loved it, too!. Absolutely wonderful show for kids and adults alike. Theatre was packed and it was in four theatres in the megaplex we went to and was being offered about every few hours ... and this was the second day of it's being shown. And, it was one of the few shows I've been to where people applauded when it was over.
Now I'm anxious for it to come out on DVD. :)

Scarecrow,
Yes indeed. It would seem that Paramount thinks it is cheaper to purchase talent that grooming their own.
I hope they have better luck than the Orioles have had. :(

I hadn't seen that about Paramount buying DreamWorks. Heaven forbid they end up ruining what has been a very talented company. I hate seeing these companies that get a good start doing quality work get absorbed by bigger companies. Pet peeve of mine.

it had a cheese factor...the magic of the books didn't translate to the film well.
and it coulda been a bit shorter...the hollywood version of a significant glance was way overplayed. removing just half of them would have cut the movie by about 20 minutes.
the matrix move didn't help either. :p
I demember the Matrix move... When was that?

when peter was fighting with the white queen toward the end of the battle and he pulled a neo (~impossible backward bending of the spine) to avoid the sword (~projectile moving across frame: speed not to exceed .0006 miles per hour)
Ah yes. I guess it didn't bother me too much cause they didn't use the 'camera moves 180 degrees around the backbending freedom fighter' shot.

He and I already have a past. In the 4th grade I won a 10 foot paper mache' King Kong from a raffle. He was covered with chopped up wigs and holding a Barbie and a King Kong decorated cake.
I wuvs him

I did not read the books. I really enjoyed the movie. My kids both liked it as well. I watched for wyndhy's Matrix move and def saw it. My oldest said it was the only bit of cheese. I loved the costuming.

We saw it last night and I enjoyed it. My son the critic however, made several remarks that it was missing some elements from the book. He admitted he enjoyed it but constantly included a but when doing so. LOL He's such a trip. My daughter whacked me for going to see it while she was at work, I guess I'll go again for her sake.
BTW... did you all know there's a wookie in Narnia?

Aqua,
I took the family to see it Friday evening. A good presentation of the story from the books. Well received by the rest of the audience as well.
Enjoyable film.
