Went into town yesterday to try and get some prezzies bought.....what a f*ckin' NIGHTMARE!

I couldn't find one single thing on my list, got bumped, nudged, pushed and sworn at for 3 solid hours... how I managed not to punch someone, I'll never know!

The ONLY good thing about it all was, being only a degree or two above freezing, a lot of young ladies (and more than a few older ones, too!) had a couple of extra "buttons" on their shirts/jumpers etc. :D

Going back in today.....gonna dig my leathers out though, AND wear my motocross boots and helmet.....think I'll be safe this time?!?!

Wish me luck!

It seems to me that the Christmas holidays bring out the grumps in people. I know that anytime someone seems hateful to me I simply look at them, smile and say....
"Merry Christmas!" :)

Good for you. When I had that part time job, I know I always tried to put on a very cheery face with people. It didn't cost anything and it's been so rewarding when I've seen some of my former, 'regular' customers who say they've really missed how I could perk up their mornings. Makes you feel good inside.

Merry Christmas, DM! Merry Christmas. :)

Happy holidays Pixies :)

Shopping this time of year is a process. I have DS done- now I just have to get everyione else. Grrr!!! LOL

But I have to gear up for it. I know if I wanna make it out with my sanity- I have to be prepared to ..... wait, be bumped, cut off and disappointed. :(

On the bright side- its all worth it x-mas day. Good luck to all on their shopping sprees. :)

Hugs,
Barb

I shopped online at a place that allowed me to ship all over to seperate addresses and pick the delivery date , for FREE. I anly have my closest loved ones to shop for at this point.

I'm gonna shop online too. What's that addy Lil?

And dm? I'm proud of you! Being of the male gender, I am surprised that you aren't more like most men I know. Shopping on Christmas Adam (day before x-mas Eve...get it?) or Christmas Eve day is more to Mr. Lixy's way of life. I think he likes to shop in a frenzy! *shrugs*

Happy Holiday's EVERYONE!

We-e-e-lllll...... normally, that's exactly what I would do Lixy, but -

1. It's -1°C right now
2. Herself's working today, so nothing doing there
3. Haven't got the wee one this weekend
4. Can't go shooting (skeet), cos it's so cold the range owner hasn't opened up today. (He's 67, so I spose I can't blame him really!)

So, given there's F-all on TV, as usual, I thought I'd give it a go. Think I'll give it up as a bad job for now though; I'm off the week before Xmas, so maybe I'll have more "Xmas spirit" in me by then!

I'm considering buying a case of wine and being done with it. I'll buy something nice for the kids.

I know this sounds a bit shrewish, but I am not sure I ahve the time or the $$ to hassle with it this year

DM383- I think you are in a better location than us Americans to get what you need for Christmas shopping. Never mind the leathers. Take that big smile :D that DB talked about, ....paint it on an armet helmet, dawn a good suite of chain mail and take a pike. (It’ll help get that stuff down from the high shelf) ;)

I'd love to know the address too, Lilith. I've been browsing online and just don't know what to buy for people this year. I think I have some of the most difficult people :(

I made it a rule years ago to not go in debt over the holidays. Why be miserable for 364 days so you can have happiness for one????

I haven't started yet this year and I dread it already....I love to give gifts, but this year will be a little bit different here at the IWM house.

Good for ya Lil and Alasse... I started that tradition last year... I still spent more than I planned, but I did it all with cash. Whenever I went out and thought I might pick up presents I made it a point to only have my debit card with me so I wouldn't be tempted to pull out the credit card.

.........or get murdered.
I made it a rule years ago to not go in debt over the holidays.Good move! I believe it's a lot harder to work off something behind you than to work for something in front of you.

You know, after yesterday I just might take you up on that PF. Thanks!

I'd love to gekko, but I reckon the local constabulary might take a dim view!

Lucky sod - wanna do mine then?!?!?!

Well, I got one thing out of all the 'pain' at least - the idea for another story. Keep your eyes peeled!!

I intentionally wait until the last minute every single year. More of a challenge trying to find just the right thing with what's left on the shelves - and you can usually get some good bargains on Christmas Eve too! I live for stress!!!!!! :)
