I know I only post here very rarely anymore, but I do know there have been a few people who have been following my little "health saga...." I'm having the procedure done Wednesday morning (7:30 AM local time), to have polyps removed from my sinuses and have my septum "undeviated." I'll be out of it for a few days, and back at work the Tuesday after Columbus Day (11 October, in other words).

That is good news dadaist! Hopefully this will stop your sinus infections?!?

You should check in more often too!

That is part of the plan/idea, yes. And keep the polyps themselves from reoccuring.

You should check in more often too!

I would if I could!

Good to hear from you, even if it is to fore-warn of an operation.

Keep a spray bottle of water nearby 'cos your mouth'll be so dry from beathing through it.

Well if anything happens to me and I never ever post again, you'll all know why :p

I've also been told to keep lots of ice packs, cold drinks (water, juices), and other cold things (such as applesauce, yogurt and popsicles) nearby. The nurse who called a few days ago raised a good point, which was to have things handy that would NOT increase blood flow BACK to my face (like anything warm to eat or drink would).

Thanks for your wishes. Cheyanne and Old Fart too. If I get through this I'll probably be back in a week to say so.

I take it that your very nervous dadaist.....

My son had this procedure done at age 13 and he did just fine. I have never had surgery so I definately understand your apprehension.

You will be fine unless you work yourself up so much that your blood pressure goes off the charts and they won't operate. I think you will be pleased with the end results.
