It seems that the Christian Democrats, led by Angela Merkel, have narrowly won Germany's Federal election. One poll puts the Christian Democrats in the lead with 35.5% of the vote, ahead of the Social Democrats on 34%.
Ms. Merkel - who wants to introduce labor reforms – may not, however, have won enough support to form a government without Gerhard Schroeder's Social Democrats.
