Hermann Bondi, one of three scientists who formulated the “Steady State” theory of the universe has died in Cambridge, England. He was 85 years old.
In 1948, Drs Bondi, Gold, and Hoyle presented their theory that the universe has always existed in a steady state. The other cosmology was “The Big Bang”.
Dr. Bondi was director-general of the European Space Research Organization from 1967 to 1971, and served the HM government as chief scientific adviser to the MoD from 1971 to 1977.
