Amsterdam Netherlands, A dutch woman,one of the worlds oldest persons on record who swore by a daily helping of herring for a healthy life,died peacefully in her sleep this morning at the age of 115. Hendrikje Van Andel-Schipper a former neddlework teacher was born on 29 June 1890.

This story wreaks (please pardon the pun) of loneliness! Seems to me that anyone who eats herring everyday of their life...wouldn't have very many friends or lovers!

P.S. Was the herring pickled?

P.P.S. I'm thinking that herring...or fish of any kind...with Omega 3 fatty oils (it's a good thing) and all that good stuff, must be good stuff. Can't hurt to add a bit of the Omega 3 I guess!

I'm reading this book http://mostlyfiction.com/contemp/haddon.htm and in it they mention red herrings are used in mystery novels.

omg~! maybe this thread is a red herring and mrs. duch woman is actually NOT dead but is, instead, anticipating her false dealth report will rasie the price of herring and she's investing in herring futures

I'm searching all over the kitchen for it.DAMN!That jar of pickled herring is gone. I see a tin of Anchovies in tne cupboard......MMMMMMMMMMMM..... straight from the tin. Wasn't Red Herring a classmate of Freddys?

LOL... I love pickled herring, but Cobalt won't kiss me if I eat it (even after I brush my teeth) :D

He calls it sewer bass.. roflmao

I buy it twice a year - Thanksgiving and Christmas.
