I have not been feeling very good lately and today it was confirmed that I have Diabetes. So for a while I'll be checking in but may not post very much. This will be just another thing to learn to live with.

Sweet sorrow.

Sorry to hear about the added hassle in your life. :( Happy to hear you’ve gotten this old before Diabetes was one of them. :)

And the answer is NO! You can not have your own category or page for you and the other Pixie sugar suckers.

Hey scarecrow..... Diabetes is a bitch, bitchier than me, if you can believe it. There are days I feel horrible, can't get my sugars off the roller coaster but I just try everyday to make responsible healthy choices. I'd be better if ice cream didn't call me personally by name from the grocery store. I wish you luck and if you ever need any info or just support, feel free to PM.

Hugs Scarecrow.... thankfully knowledge is power... and more and more people are living longer.. and even healthier when it is discovered that they have this... I wish you well...

I happen to be one of the idoits... who think that I can run and hide from it... I believe I probably have the early stages of it... but refuse to look into it.. I know.. I know... my bad.... I think I need a spankin. :(

Thank you all for your well wishes, this will just be another challenge on the highway of life. My only problem is how to combine another diet with my health diets. This will leave me with nothing good to eat. :D No salt, no suger and no fat. Oh well life goes on.

Scarecrow, you may be surprised to find that having diabetes will raise your cholesterol level. Taking medication and watching your sugar may allow you to consume more protein and fat without affecting your cholesterol.

I empathize w/ you, I've had type 1 since 1997. You learn to change up your eating and exercise habits, but overall I feel it has been a great way to become a more healthy person. I feel great b/c i eat as healthy as I can and exercising regularly has kept me feeling great.
If you ever have any q's hun please feel free to im or pm me. I'll try my best to help you out through this most difficult time that I once experienced.

Scarecrow... as was said before, this is something you can live with, it just takes some change in your diet and exercise. Well, and usually medication. But be sure you do as your Dr. suggests, we don't want you having any serious problems arise from it.

((((We're here for you.))))
