Yessir, it is not uncommon. The Benedictine monks of Buckfast Abbey in Devon, England sell a tonic wine called "Buckfast" to fund their prison Chaplaincy efforts as well as the Benedictine tradition of education.

It was a joke. I volunteer for the Franciscan monks soup kitchen in the 'hood. I just love beer too, is all. :)
