Today's the second anniversary of the blackout that took out the eastern seaboard.
I was stuck at freaking work. A stupid dating company did.not.close. WTF? Everyone else got to go home but not us. We were sweating, male co-workers were shirtless, we had to walk up and down eight flights of stairs for smoke breaks, we only had warm water, there was no food. It was goooooooood times!
It was cool to head home & see all the streetcars abandoned on Queen & King Sts, tho'.
A lot of my friends ended up chilling all over the city with neighbours. *le sigh* lucky bastards
Where were you? What did you do that day?

My ex and I had just flown into Montreal when the lights went out over there... It was our first big trip together. Everyone at the airport was talking about a terrorist attack, all flights were cancelled, it was basically chaos! Thankfully it wasn't anything serious!

OMG. I was in the dentist's chair getting a cavity filled... had just gone under novacaine. Ugh. They had to put a temporary filling in then send me on my way... only to come back the next day and do it all again. Did I mention I hate needles? Especially in my mouth? LOL.
And when I was driving home from the dentist, the radio said that the NE was blaming it on the Niagara Falls power plant... that a lightning strike had hit it. I could only laugh and look at the cloudless, blue sky. :)

Yeah right, we know it was CLEVELAND's (ergo PF's) fault!
OMG FallenAngel5 -- the dentist's chair? :dizzy:
I'll also add that when I got home around 2 a.m., I wanted to walk around the 'hood and see what was going on. My stupid ex insisted on coming with me (he thought there would be gangs of marauders around) & I wasn't happy because I wanted to explore the 'hood on my own. I ended up stomping home a short time later, he stayed outside with the dog. He sat and watched as the dog chased a skunk.
I was finally falling asleep after a long, stressful day with overtime & my ex brings the dog into the bedroom and shuts.the.door.
I ended up sleeping outside with the dog so the smell wouldn't permeate the house and made my ex wash the dog a zillion times as I returned to work.
And yes, I wrote marauders. :D
