I fell asleep with my TV on so I could wake up to the Live 8 coverage. Is anyone else sitting on their arses all day to watch it?

I didn't get tickets to the one north of us in Barrie because I was afraid it would be a million degrees & the line-up didn't impress me. Celine Dion via satellite? Why couldn't she get her skinny arse on a plane to be there in person?

I was glued to the TV for Live Aid, too. My parents bought me books on Live Aid & it led me to organize my schoolmates to raise funds for the famine. I'm a bit more cynical now but I still think it's a good idea & perhaps the G8 leaders will pause from their golf games to ponder the big picture.

So far, I've watched Chris Martin from Coldplay & Richard Ashcroft from the Verve duet (heavenly!) & now Dido & Youssou n'Dour (cold shivers!).

Bill Gates gave a good speech, too (did you know he's donated FIVE BILLION dollars to charity?!?!?!).

Are you guys watching? Did you watch Live Aid?

I watched a Q & A session last night on MTV with Geldorf, Blair and some young adults. I was completely impressed. I guess I have not followed all the G8 dealings close enough. I learned more in that 30 minutes than I had about the entire process from the regular news media.

I knew Geldorf as a kind humanitarian but had no idea to the extent of his brilliance. He amazed me.

So far I've really enjoyed The Black Eyed Peas, Will Smith and i just swoon over Audioslave. I'm not sure which place has had the better show. the Belin and London shows looked awesome.

I really liked watching Linkin Park and JayZ, and Pink Floyd was...well there are no words.

BI BI I didn't get to see too many of the performances from Barrie, but I did happen to catch Simple Plan who are supposed to be in concert right near here tonight...I'm guessing they didn't make it.:D

I was also impressed that Elton John invited Pete Dogherty (sp.) onstage for a duet. Dogherty has been in the news lately for his crack & heroin addictions & I have the feeling Sir Elton identified with him.
