I don't see it, either. Is it because of the white make-up?

I can't wait to see it. I'm thinking it will be based more on the book than the original was.
I don't see the similarity.......
I love Johnny Depp!!!

I will go and see it, which is a remake of the original, but I am skeptical, because I grew up with Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka and Johnny Depp as Edward Scissorhands... lol. It will be interesting to see the spin that Tim Burton puts on this tale.

I've only seen the previews, but that version creeps me the fuck out. Tim Burton is a weird mutha...the new Chocolate factory movie looks like one big acid trip.

I recently saw something on TV saying that the original book by Roald Dahl, while it was a children's story, had certain horror elements in it as well, & it seems to me that maybe Burton is just redefining those elements a bit...as to whether Depp is too creepy in this version, go back & watch the Gene Wilder movie again...he's definately playing very close to the edge of creepy, & those Oompa-Loompas are STILL scary 35 years later...
