THIS IS THE "GOOD" KIND OF REDNECK TO BE

We have enjoyed the redneck jokes for years. It's time to take a reflective look at the core beliefs of a culture that values home, family, country and God. If I had to stand before a dozen terrorists who threaten my life, I'd choose a half dozen or so rednecks to back me up. Tire irons, squirrel guns and grit -- that's what rednecks are made of. I hope I am one of those. If you feel the same, pass this on to your redneck friends. Ya'll know who ya' are...

You might be a redneck if: It never occurred to you to be offended by the phrase, "One nation, under God."

You might be a redneck if: You've never protested about seeing the 10 Commandments posted in public places.

You might be a redneck if: You still say "Christmas" instead of "Winter Festival."

You might be a redneck if: You bow your head when someone prays.

You might be a redneck if: You stand and place your hand over your heart when they play the National Anthem.

You might be a redneck if: You treat Viet Nam vets with great respect, and always have.

You might be a redneck if: You've never burned an American flag.

You might be a redneck if: You know what you believe and you aren't afraid to say so, no matter who is listening.

You might be a redneck if: You respect your elders and expect your kids to do the same.

You might be a redneck if: You'd give your last dollar to a friend.
I guess I'm a Redneck afterall! Irish

As a thought, recently,I was watching "Country Outlaws".A compilation of
country songs, sung by what has been known as country outlaws.Gretchen
Wilson,of "Redneck Women" fame, sang a duet with Hank Williams JR.It was called "Outlaw Women".I have been riding & racing motorcycles(Also building
& customizing)for over 45yrs.You wouldn't believe the memories, that song brought back of some of the women, that hung out & rode with the guys!

P.S.Sorry,most are probably not interested, but it really flooded back good memories.

i am a a redneck for sure and so are my parents. i like your "You Might Be A Redneck If.." phrases. They almost made me cry. Those phrases just hit a tender spot with me.

but thank you for the compliments to my.. uh .. "culture". Dont want to offend anyone by calling rednecks a race. so culture is the best word i can come up with.

Just a reminder that the values aren't exclusively American.

Many of us in far-off lands share the basic philosophy, if not the same flag.

Irish..... Rednecks also believe in a hard days works for a days pay. They believe and right and wrong, And they believe on telling it like it is. And if a stranger needs a hand you give it to them and expect nothing in return because it's the right thing to do. :)

OF---You mean that there are Rednecks,"Down Under"? :D

FYI---The term redneck, actually came from people working in the fields. They
would get a burn on their necks, from the sun!At least, that's what I was told,
long ago. Irish

Even though some may try to take these values from others, they do not belong to any person, but to the specie.

I don't think those values have anything to do with redneck, but have to do with a general respect that is taught in southern cultures (and others as well). As a service's memeber's wife, I'm glad to see that some folks still hold basic vaules and have a respect for soldiers that are working hard and away from their families. Nothing in the world makes me madder than seeing people remain seated, talk through or refuse to remove their headwear for the national anthem and the pledge. :box: I"m glad all of your mama's taught you properly in regard to that
