How many people wear them? Do they even exist where you are?
Over here they've become VERY popular, most places have sold out of them.

I think it was all started by Lance Armstrong's "livestrong" Yellow wristband to raise money to help fight cancer - http://www.laf.org

I wear a red one from the British Heart Foundation - http://www.bhf.org.uk

Others include:-

White - Make Poverty History - http://www.oxfam.org
Pink - Breast Cancer Awareness - http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/breastcancer/
Blue - Anti-bullying campaign - http://www.bbclic.com/
Black/White - Against Racism - http://www.nike.com/standupspeakup/en/home.jsp?page=home

I have been wearing a light blue on that says...
Embrace
Engage
Enable
Expand
Express

It is for Autism awareness.

My kid wearsone of those as well and a light pink breast cancer one given to him by a mom in our carpool who is dying of breast cancer.

Don't forget you can get you Drunk Bitch ones at http://lexandterry.com/index-2004.html

They are very popular around here. Especially the Livestrong ones.

ROFL Aqua!

A guy I work with went to a seminar featuring Lance Armstrong. He was so impressed that he ordered the bracelet on the Web & it took months to arrive due to high demand.

What I like about wearing the one I do, is that people ask...because it's not one of the more common ones, and it gives me a chance to make them aware of how quickly the rates have been climbing.

I'm only familar with the livestrong ones... they cost $1 USD and all the profits go to Lance's Livestrong Foundation. I have one but don't wear it faithfully. I actually would really like a breast cancer one... and am on the lookout for one now... I've seen them at the drug stores but have been nervous about where the funds go with them as there isn't a sign indicating... I'm off to search now :)

They are very popular here. I have one for breast cancer but I feel like I'm wearing a flea collar on my wrist so I don't wear it much.

when i was looking yesterday i came across a site that sold all kinds of them but i didn't notice one for cerebral palsy. i did notice a bunch of sites that will make you target specific ones, and they have about a million colors to choose from. maybe you could start your own campain and give the profits to ucp.

I wear the pink and yellow ones. Cancer runs in my family. And my husband is a cancer survivor.

Hugs,

Just so some people know There have POW-MIA bacelets around for many many years. They have the name and unit of a service man that still haven't returned home. most of the sites I've found the money goes to Veterans Organazations

I've got several of those Winston :) One of them I selected because the man was from WI (my homestate) when I got it home and was showing it to my Dad, he remembered the man from his time in the service. It sent chills up and down my spine. I have three in total ... a red one (Vietnam, I believe), a gold one (Persian Gulf) and a silver one that is wider and I purchased at the Vietnam War Memorial in D.C. I'm not sure where they are now-a-days, as soooo much of my stuff is neatly tucked away, but I did cross the gold one the other day when I was cleaning out my jewelry bowl on my bathroom vanity.

Winston---FYI,there are also(ribbons),like the"Support your Troops"-POW &
MIA(ribbons)for your vehicle.I have a" SYT"one & an "MIA &POW"one on each side of the rear of my street vehicle.I also ordered the Autism Awareness ones, from Liliths website last night.I also have a POW-MIA decal on my car
window,but I don't remember where I got it!The POW-MIA things have always
been a pet thing of mine.I am a 10% disabled VN vet & I saw the way people
were treated by the other side.Once you see it,you never forget it! Irish
P.S.Sorry for the rant,I get carried away!

Ironically, seeing as how I'm Irish, my bracelet is green. Didn't plan it, just fate I guess. :)

It's a "Reach The Day" bracelet who's proceeds go to pediatric cancer research.
