You aren't going to believe this one.
I get to the iris show early this morning and get all my arrangements set up.
This guy comes in late and hurries to get his set up. He didn't even have his put together. He lays all his crap out next to one of my arrangements, KNOCKS MINE OVER and breaks every damn bloom on it! :hair:
I'm so mad right now I can't see straight. To top that off I was his only competition in that category. He had the nerve to tell me that it "just fell over" :rolleyes2
First he said it was top heavy and fell over then, he said that my backboard fell over on my arrangement and knocked it over. Oh then he said the maybe air movement from what he was doing may have made it fall.
Dammit why can't people just admit they fucked up and apologize? :bang:

Well it's not over yet. We had to leave because the judges came in and are judging right now. I TRIED to patch mine but it looks like shit. I go back at 1pm to see who won what.

He should have coughed up some more flowers for me. That would have been the right thing to do.

The guy that knocked her arrangement over got himself caught up in the ass end of karma today. LOL Like CGT said, he knocked her arrangement over, then totally cheesed out about it and didn't fess up. So CGT tried her best to salvage it as best she could. Keep in mind, EVERY bloom on it was mangled and broken! She took off one of the blooms from its stalk and pinned on another bloom. She took a piece of masking tape and put together one of the broken petals on another bloom. (Red Green would be sooooo proud!!!) :rofl:
Then off we went thinking everything was snafu'd.

We come back after the judging, and lo and behold....

That very arrangement won 1st place in it's division...beating the shit out of the guy that knocked it over!!!

As if that wasn't enough, she went on to win five trophies, a bazillion 1st places, and the top honor: "Queen Of Show"!!!!!!! Her flower was the BEST of the entire show!

Can you tell I'm beaming right now? :) I am sooooooooo proud of her.

Oh I still can't believe it. I was so focused on the artistic division I never thought about winning anything in the horticulture division. When I walked in and they told me I won the show I broke down and bawled like a baby. Every one was giving me big hugs. They knew what really happened. Been a damn stressful day I tell ya. But I did get some some pics of the show.

I wanted to show you the artistic ones too. Here is the one that won. It wasn't mine. It was an awesome design.

This one is a tree stump darogle picked up out of the creek and drilled holes in it for me to put flowers in then cut out the back to hold a vase. It got second place. He worked really hard on it. We nicknamed it Bigfoot. :D

Anything that will hold water. But, we can't use fountains. It can be as tall as we want but it can't be over 24 inches wide. Everything has to be natural plant material. Dried or fresh with irises dominating the arrangement.
