Some of my friends last night were rekindling their tales of how they hooked up with their g/f's, s/o's and such. So I'd like to know how fellow pixie members found their s/o.

I know for me it was a freak accident in the dorms. I was leaving with some friends and my g/f was walking in from the otherside of the door with her friends. When I opened the dorm hall door I hit the cake she was carrying and it literally spilled onto the floor. I felt so bad afterwards because I did it, I drove her to the local supermarket and bought her another one and that got things rolling as I eventually bought her dinner that night too lol. Kinda of "stroke of luck" in a sense.

Mine was completely by accident too. Now I'd known her for a long time, on and off, as she used to be my sister's best mate at college, but after a big argument over my sister's now ex-husband (she take a lot of telling, does my sis), they fell out. How I came to have my now g/f's phone number I can't recall, but in a fit of mischief I texted her. For a while, it was a case "Who are you???? I don't know your number, who is this...?" Then I came clean and revealed myself...

We got chatting a bit, and decided to hook up for the odd one-nighter after I moved into this place. I only realised how I felt about her when she started going out with someone else. I had to bide my time, and it all fell apart for her during fall last year, I was there to listen and pick up the pieces. Having got her tears dried and sorted (it ain't easy over the phone) I waited and I then made my feelings known just before xmas.

Now she's given up all her male friends, introduced me to her children, and if we're still steady in summer next year, when she finishes college, we're going to move in together, probably not too far from her parents who live in London.

She's made me the happiest man around, her looks might not be what everyone wants but that don't worry me none, cos its her personality and attitude that I love about her more.

My wife and I met on a blind date back when we were both in High School. My original date for that night had broken her foot and she decided not to try and go out, so my best friend's girl arranged the date with her best friend so we could double that night.

It must have worked. We will have been together for 45 years this year in May and married for 42 years in June and I still wouldn't trade her for anything.

I was chatting in a locals chat room on Yahoo! And this one guy who lived in the county over from me was trying to put the major mack down on me. He thought he was smoother than greased owl shit. And every come on, line, or comment he made I shot down cold. He kept bothering me for about 2 or 3 days and finally I said I was going to meet him so I could shoot him down in person since he was too thick headed to get it online.

We've been married now for 4 years last thursday.

I met her on Friday when she came into town to be in my sisters wedding on Saturday. We were both 18 then and after the wedding we stopped to have a hambuger and beer with my sister and her new husband. We were all taking about marriage and someone dared her to marry me and she accepted. We were married the next day at noon in another stare. The was 45 years ago and we are still together.
It's the best thing she ever done. :jump:

In the early 60s,I was in the service(armed forces)I was stationed at Pease
AFB.There was an AW DriveIn just off base.Every night,my roommate(best
friend) & I would drive to just over the border(Mass) & get a bottle at the
local package store.We would then go to the AW & get a Baby RootBeer($.50)
& sit there all night.It was where the local girls went to get picked up & hang
out.My roommate was off chasing a girl,in his car.I was wandering around with
a 16oz beer,in one hand & a bottle of booze in the other.The AP & SP pulled
in,to check on things.There was an Air Base on one side of town & a Navy
Base on the other.I was 18/19.I looked around & saw a girls car that I knew.
She was driving & another girl that I knew,was riding shotgun.There was a
stranger,sitting in the middle.In my drunken stuper,I dove in the window.I
landed in the strangers lap.I looked up & said-Hi,my names Tom!May 1st,we
will be married 40yrs.If she drank,3 drinks a yr,that was alot.At the time,I
drank 3 drinks for Breakfast.That was the "OLD Days".The 15th was 12yrs

We met in typing class, I was in 10th grade and he was 11th. We were the worse ones in the class. I had a boyfriend at the time who broke my heart and he tried to get us back together....thankfully that didn't work. He caught my eye cuz he was the only guy in school with a cool car and I knew my dad would approve.. :rofl: We have been together ever since, never broke up, not even for a day. We married 7 years later, May 15, 1996, in Jamaica, where my parents sent us to finally get our lives started together. If it wasn't for him, I know I wouldn't have anything. :lurv:

And yes...we've had our "dull" times just like any other relationship..... thankfully he's more patient than me.

I'd seen him around Pixies but never chatted with him....but one Saturday night he was the only other Engllish person on here (with nothing better to do!) so I PMed him and we became friends. A certain Moderatrix thought we'd make a cute couple and kept subtly suggesting we might be more than friends, and eventually we started to agree with her.

We met up in person in January 2003, he moved in with me in the December, we got engaged last June and we marry next April. :D

I'd been watching Denny's postings (asked IAKG about him long before actually meeting him), and although he was a major flirt, I liked what I saw. I really liked his intellegence. What made me decide to PM him and introduce myself was- frankly- the fact that he hadn't posted pictures of himself. I introduced myself in late April and we starting chatting and talking on the phone. He called one afternoon and I was delighted when I saw his number. I answered the phone with a "certain kind of laugh" and that's when it all firmly clicked into place for us both.

Our first face to face meeting was in July... and it's just gotten better and better ever since.

Well I am currently single as I have been for the past two years.

Since I have Ausperger's Syndrome and can't read on any social cues, have no social skills, and can't hold a minimum wage jobs for longer than three months, I seriously doubt any woman will ever love me.

I met my ex on an internet chatroom. I made fun of her for being devoutly Christian and bisexual.

She never once got mad at me and saw I was just a lonely and sad man, and once i had convinced her I was a Christian we hooked up.

Well, I met my wife in the Oklahoma chat room on AOL. I was a AOL Guide back then. <believe it or not> Anyway, she and I tried to be honest with each other. I told her I didnt want a relationship (just got over a nasty divorce) and that I was just looking for sex. She told me she was not really looking for sex, but wanted a 1 on 1 relationship. We met anyway and shortly after we BOTH changed our minds. I moved in with her, brought her to my side of the fence, and have now been together over 7 years. Married for 5.

Mr. Osuche and I met at an Honors House party my first week of class at Ohio State. He was a Junior, and running the event. I'd gone to the party as the date of one of his friends, and went home with Mr. Osuche (with the gentleman's permission, of course).

Mr. Osuche had just lost his father, and we immediately bonded....as only two people who both lost their dads much too early can do. We stayed up all night talking, and a one point we kissed. At 7:30 am, with NO sleep, he left me to go and run a club meeting he was in charge of. I was impressed by his integrity and dedication ~~ I was pretty sure that I'd have blown off the meeting. :)

It was then that I decided I wanted to be witht his man for the rest of my life. Of course, it took him about another 6 months to realize the same thing....but we eventually came to a consensus. ;)

My best friend had been invited to a "pool party" as sort of a blind date. Another friend of mine, a guy, is the one who set her up. They both insisted that I go with her. We got there and quickly discovered that the party only consisted of the two of us ... my guy friend ... and Mr. Blind date.

After about 2 hours of brushing off the guy friend that had been asking me out for years I announced I was ready to go. It was at that time that one of Mr. Blind Date's friends showed up uninvited. We were introduced and as he headed to grab a beer he offered to bring me one. When getting in the pool he managed to drop both beer bottles, (still unopened). He picked his up with his toes as I was using my toes to pick up mine.

I think it was at that moment that we were both completely hooked. We spent the rest of the night talking (my best friend and Mr. Blind Date were having a sleep over) and we were living together by the end of the next week. We are now marrried, expecting a baby, and our one year anniversary is the 24th of this month!

when Mr. LAW was a kid, his grandma lived down the road from my baby sitter. He tried to kiss me. I threw mud at him.

When he was a teenager, his best friend introduced us again. (we didn't know about the earlier connection.) I totally ignored him and tried to get in the best friends knickers.

Then we ended up in drama class together when he was in the 11th grade and I was in 9th. To hear him tell it, I was the most gorgeous girl on the planet and he had to have me to he laid down his pimp skills and got what he wanted. Here the rest of the story.

The girl I thought was my best friend at the time decided it would be a fantastic idea to date the guy she knew I was jonesing for. Not only that, but she told everyone how sorry and pathetic I was and that I would never find or keep a man. And I believed it, because my track record thus far was pretty shitty. And so I showed up in this drama class completly down on myself and with no selfesteem when this guy resembling a slightly less stoner version of Cheech Marin starts hitting on me. I decided he was the best I would ever do and gave him my number.

We dated through high school, got married our second year of college (3 years ago), and had our first child last year. He is the most perfect thing that has ever happened to me becuase he showed me I was worth something.

And bad karma does catch up with people. The "best friend" was dumped at the alter last year by her fiance. The fiance left her for her best friend...a dude. tragic.

me & mr sd were a semi-blind date. It was my senior year of HS & it was Homecoming time. I had asked a guy friend of mine to take me to the dance, but he bailed at the last second(the night before) because his boss wouldn't let him off work. My SIL said she only knew one person with a son my age, so off we went to my DH's stepdad's house. And whadaya know, he was there. She asked him to take me to the dance and that was almost 6 yrs ago now. We'll have been married 4 yrs May 12; together 6 yrs in October. Our first child, a son, is 17 mos old. We've only ever been apart 1 wk in 6 yrs(and that was because our work sent him out of town).

Two summers ago, I worked as an interpretive guide, giving talks in some coastal parks in the region. I started out with one boss, but he was only there for about a week, before another guy came along to take his place. About two weeks after this, my boss, his boss, my co-worker, another guy in the tourism business around here and I went to a tourism conference at the other end of the province. The first night, we all bought cheap swimsuits and went swimming at the hotel's pool (except for my boss's boss). The other guy, and then my co-worker, eventually left the pool, and my boss and I ended up in the hot tub ;) He flirted a bit, I thought he was kinda nice...
The next night, we were all bussed to a town in the next province for supper. After the elaborate supper, there was going to be a nice evening of traditional music. My boss, his boss, my co-worker and I decided to skip that and go clubbing instead :D We first went and played a bit of pool (where my boss and I were a team against the other two). We then went to a very dark club, where my co-worker made us all drink flaming sambucas. We danced for hours before a slow song came on, and when one finally did, my boss and I just gravitated towards each other. I kissed his cheek, he kissed my mouth... He ended staying the night in my room back at the hotel.
In three weeks, Lake and I will have been together for 2 years :D

I was on leave (in the Air Force at the time) on my way from one foreign country to another (England to New Mexico). We were introduced by my best friend of all time who didn't want to see me grow old alone (I was 24 at the time). It was at church one Sunday night. She wanted to use me to make her boyfriend jealous. Well - about 3 weeks later right before I had to leave as my "vacation" was up, I popped the question. 25 plus years later I still wonder what would have happened if her plan had worked......

We met at work, two newly minted college grads who happened to have majored in the same discispline. We hit it off immediately. First date was to Star Trek 5...awful movie. But we sat and talked for hours afterwards and discovered, for the first time in a long time, love. I wasn't looking for it, it came looking for me.

14 years, two kids, and two cities later we are still going strong. She's the best thing that ever happened to me. I married way over my head!

Wife came to town for an EMS conference I was helping with. We met through mutual friends at a bar that night. We both had alot to drink and we started kissing and she rubbed my package under the table.

The next night we all went out again, but she didn't drink. I did for both of us though. We stayed up late and just talked and kissed a little more.

Didn't think I would ever see her again when she left. She lived about 400 miles away. Anyway, one day she was in town to interview for a job and came walking into the station. We have been together for 6 years and married for 4. She has two wonderful kids and we have one on the way.
