Frank Perdue, who gained fame and a tidy fortune raising chickens for dinner tables, died on Thursday aged 84.
He was an icon here in Maryland, immortalized with one of advertising’s more memorable lines, “It takes a tough man to make a tender chicken”.
His chickens were sold up and down America’s Eastern Seaboard.

The thing that I remember MOST about him,was that in one of his ads,he had
a breast gauge. He's the ONLY male that I ever saw have one! Irish

But gecko? He did say, "It takes a tough man to make a tender bird". Maybe that's what he meant!
I always liked his commercials.
What did he die from?
He probably died of old age.
I find it ironic that the king of chickens was born in Salisbury......as in steak! lol

Always hate to see anyone go and I'd be thankful if I live another 20 years.
