:D Yes i said it!

So I'm sitting in a middle school Reading class, and the story they are reading keeps referring to glory holes (its about finding gold).:yikes:

I was dying trying to keep a straight face, through 2 different class periods. :p

None of the other grown ups in the room seemed to be as tickled about it as I was. Am I corrupted beyond the normal scope of societal corruption?

Have you ever been in a situation like that where something which could be taken as sexual, is just killing you and there is no one around who gets it?

Or is middle school just rubbing off on me :p????

I was in a college psych class just last month and several times I'd snicker at something that was said. Most of the other students would just look at me oddly but the professor was my age and I knew she got it... she'd get nervous about my possible comments and change the subject fast... LOL
We did manage some onteresting conversations about sexual behaviours though, when I could curb the temptation to make pervatious remarks. It's funny how age changes things. I remember being quiet in class and afraid to express my views. I'm thinking that professor wishes I was still like that. :p

Lilith, I would have been dying about it right there with you. Almost everything I hear I take in some perverted way and giggle about it.

Oh, those other parents understood it and couldn't wait to run home to tell their spouse about glory holes. haha

i don't think i be able keep a straight face at all :p

when we were kids, my dad took us fishing and he was teasin my little brother about baiting the hook. "soon, you'll be a master baiter, son!" my dad goes. he glanced at me real quick and looked away even quicker, we were the only two old enough on the boat to get it. i cracked up so bad i blew snot out my nose. occasionally i still tease him about it. :D

i'm suprised the book has not been challenged by one watchdog group or another, what with it's blatant references to deviant sexual practices and strong undertones of homosexuality :rolleyes2

Nope, but I'm impressed with your efforts so far.

Ha, in middle school, I was practically the only one in the class (*including* the teacher) that got the unintended sexual references.

Are there specific references that indicate the glory holes mentioned were not in fact the glory holes we are aware of now?

I mean, it's not beyond reason that people back then weren't seeking out a "hummer in a hole". :D

I think it would have been fun to have sat in the class, raised my hand and said, "Teacher, could you explain the term 'glory hole' to us? I haven't heard it used in that context before." :banner:
