I need a bit of advice with a problem I have. I recently recorded to DVD a series of Star Trek episodes. After I was done, I went to watch them and found they were brim full of commercials. (surprise)

I have located a editor that "says" it will allow me to edit them out, but it demands the input file/files be in AVI or MPG format. I have been looking for a util that will take the VOP, IFO etc. files on my DVD and convert them to the before mentioned AVI files and put them on my hard drive. So far, my search has been fruitless.

Anyone got any ideas? I need to find a converter for the DVD files to AVI, or I need a editor that can read the DVD files directly. (the DVD files are NOT encripted)

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

This is what I use at work... http://www.pinnaclesys.com/ProductPage_n.asp?Product_ID=1501&Langue_ID=7

The software costs around $80-90 dollars and may not be what you want if you don't deal with a lot of conversions. With this software you can save the movie onto your computer in the format, edit it, and then "render" the movie into another format and burn it on another CDR...you don't have to use DVD discs and the formats used are playable on a DVD player...
