*curls up into a ball and mewls in pain* I hate it when I come home for Christmas, my family just finished mashing my ego into the dirt. Why is it they have absolutely no respect for me? I generally act civilly at the worst to them, and don't try to start fights. It just seems like when I give them an opening, they attack me. As far as I'm concerned I'm no longer welcome with my own family...*sigh* I guess I just need a hug...mewwwww...;_;...

How 'bout a handshake? Find things in your life that do make you happy and focus on them. Good luck!

That's just how it is, Shadow Kitty :( Families suck sometimes. My family sucks most of the time too, I get accused of things I don't even do, and when it comes to my fiance--FORGET IT, I get some terrible shit about him.

Just remember, it's the holidays and maybe you ought to remind them to remember the same next time.

((((((((hugs))))))) I know families can be difficult to put up with. You have to accept them for who they are and not let them define who you are. Be better them and don't let bitterness take over.

Family is something we don't appreciate until we don't have much of it anymore. You don't get to choose your family ~ generally they don't understand you, and often they aren't the types of people you choose to surround yourself with. But they are the closest we get to unconditional love.....you don't owe them anything, and you don't have to impress them. Cherish them as much as you can.

Trust me, it gets easier when you move out and you can get *away* from them anytime you like. ;)

Like the old saying goes, "You can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family", family is important, try to make things work, But if it doesn't at least you made the effort. It really hurts when family is against you, they are the ones that you need to turn to when you need to feel loved. It doesn't always work out, then you just have to move on without them, it is very hard to do.

i always thought it was "you can pick your friends and you can pick your nose but you can't pick your friends nose" :D

hang in there shadow kitty...as you get older they tend to lay off a bit, let you love your life the way you want.
