Tom Leykis is a nationally syndicated radio show in the US that has now been on the air in Seattle for 10 years. He is boisterous and often rude but generally speaking, tells it like it is. His show topics frequently involve sex and/or the battle of the sexes, although he will discuss many different things as long as they are deemed fascinating. He has recurring segments on his show such as 'Leykis 101', his 'On-air adult education course which teaches men how to get laid for less money and teaches women how men think', and 'Wide open telephones' where he takes calls on any subject as long as the caller can 'hold the nation spellbound'. The latter occurs every Friday and during Daylight Savings this is also known as Flash Friday where the female listeners are encouraged to expose their breasts to other listeners, who show they are listening by turning their headlights on during the show. The website URL comes from an explosion sound effect he would use on callers that were completely unreasonable. After awhile it became commonplace for callers to end their conversation with, 'Can you blow me up Tom?', and when he launched his website using his name as the URL, he was constantly getting calls from people that couldn't log on to the site because they were misspelling his name. Nowadays he gets requests from people to not only be blown up, but to be taken out in numerous different styles, many of which are completely tasteless. Common ways people ask to be taken out are: JFK style (Sr. and Jr) with either a rifle shot (3 actually) or a plane crash sound effect, Dale Earnhardt style with a car crash, Kingdome style with audio of the Kingdome implosion from when they demolished it, and many others. The Tom Leykis show is heard from 3pm-7pm PST, Mon-Fri on several radio markets across the United States.
