Hi, everyone.
Well, got our youngest daughter married Saturday over in Indianapolis.
Went over last Thursday and just returned a little while ago. The trip went great. Weather was almost perfect. Family in friends from as far away as Texas and Florida made it up. The two families really hit it off. The bride (Father's look of pride is visible :D) was beautiful. Had a marvelous Italian rehersal dinner; a really beautiful church wedding in a spectaular church; the homily was very tailored for the couple with a good message delivered in a light and enjoyable manner; a simply unbelieveable reception dinner and party; and it ended today with my kids throwing me a birthday party (I turned 61 today). I teased my daughter telling her that she sure went to a lot of trouble to celebrate my birthday. JK!!!! :D :D
Following is the poem I wrote for her and her new husband ... hope you enjoy:
Points of Light
I sat beneath the points of light
That shown in darkened sky
And wondered of the majesty
Of God’s creative eye.
So many stars, so vast the view,
How marvelous is He,
Then it became so very clear,
How near He was to me.
At first a tiny baby girl,
A toddler soon to be,
And then my little princess,
Who I could hold upon my knee.
It seemed like only moments,
Till that bouncing ball of joy,
Was off to school and parties,
Or thinking of dates and boys.
Then one of those boys she met and saw,
Became that special beau
One who stole her tender heart
And gave her such a glow.
Today, we celebrate that love
‘Tween Brian and fair Dawn,
And in that celebration,
Again, I wonder on …
These two new shining points of light
That have merged beneath God‘s sky,
Share a glimpse of His true majesty,
And His creative eye.
God bless you, always ...
