What do you do when the person closest to you. that you love with your entire being.. tells you that she made out with another man .. and then tried to kill herself...
.. god.. why does life have to be this way.. why cannot everything be different

I have no idea what to say to help you through this awful time in your life.
Perhaps I can just say that I care, and that we're here for you. Feel free to tell us what ever's on your mind, and we'll try our best to show you love and support, for however long you need it.
Take care of yourself.
Lou

God Ranger, it sounds like you're going through hell. But Lou's right, you've got a whole pile of people here who hope it gets better and wish they could help.
I've known a lot of people who have lived for a time in their own form of your darkness. It's different every time, but the pitch black imagery rings a lot of bells. Almost all of them have made it out, given time and good people to talk to. The ones that stay in the dark are the ones that start to need it. The ones who let it define them. And that's as honest an answer as I can give you here. There's light, if you want it, even if you can't see it at the moment.
Take care of yourself as best you can for now,
G
Ranger1930 .... life can be harsh sometimes, VERY harsh sometimes, but hold on tight, it can also be incredibly wonderful sometimes and those moments will come in your life as well .... people are human and so yes, most of us have times when we lie ... not necessarily to hurt others, sometimes we're so busy lieing to ourselves that we don't even notice others get caught in the cross-fire of those lies. we're human and we make mistakes, but we're human and we learn to love (if we don't let ourselves get caught and begin to wallow in the murky muddy stuff of life). ... I guess what I'm trying to say is, you're a good guy and people care about you, and that means you care about people as well .... and even though that sometimes means you get hurt, it also means you have the possibility of joy .... take hope in that when you are in these dark times, don't let the negative things in life color your perceptions so much that when the positive comes along you miss it! :) and in the meantime, sending hugs and caring thoughts your way! Ranger...no solutions for you, unfortunately, but life is filled with highs and lows, so hang in there....
It's fun and easy to handle the highs, but dealing with and working through the lows builds strength and character.
You definitely have supporters here, so make use of the resource.

Ranger,
Grab hold of you ass as tight as you can and don't let go. No matter what the fuck happens, you must not die! Go be with someone, anyone, you can trust whether you know them or not.
If you review a few of my recent posts and threads, you will see that the people here really care. These people really care and will help you. The main thing is don't die. Some see this as a curse, others consider it a blessing, but, you have many years ahead of you to be on earth in this sometimes wonderful and sometimes stinking life. Don't die.
The Catch 22: If you think you are going insane, you aren't.
I am nearly 53 and to this very day I live with deamons that have been wtih me for years. I have sad thoughts and feelings that are exactly the same as they were when I was 8 or 9 years old.
I don't know why life is this way. The damned truth is that life is nothing. Life isn't aware of you or me. Life does not even know that it exists. Life is not a being. It's not a thing. People are what count. People make life what it is.

Having been there, I was given this advice, in story form of course.
Once upon a time, there was a little cat, who loved his tail. This cat would spend hours cleaning and pruning his tail, while the other cats were out catching mice. Never a speck of dirt would get on this tail, for it was always clean, yes, this cat loved his tail. One fateful day, while walking around the rail yards, the cat heard a train. Turning around quickly, he noticed that his tail was now caught in the tracks. The train beared down on this poor little cat, he tugged and tugged, but he couldn't stop admiring his tail. He looked up just as the train passed him, and the train tore his head clean off.
Never lose your head over a piece of tail.
Cheers.

never lose my head over a peice of tail?
maybe it didnt occur to you that this isnt a peice of tail to me?
Quite possibly you didnt stop to think that this woman and I have been in an relationship for 6 fucking years..
Thats longer than alot of people can claim.
And maybe.. just fucking maybe i was thinking about going to the jewelry store soon..
But i guess things like that don't occur in minds that can only think about their next fucking lay.

Ranger1930---I wasn't even going to respond to this, but you piss
me off!I don't even know anything about whoever justin is.You
ask for help(Advice column)& this guy tries to lighten up things for you & inject a little humor. What does he get for thanks? You jump
down his throat & judge his thoughts. As another member once
said-If you can't say anything nice, say nothing! Irish

Ranger1930---I'm not calling anyone an asshole!I have been married,to the same woman, for 39yrs.In your situation,I would
be devastated.I am 60yrs old now.Among other things,I have been,a guard,been in combat,been an "enforcer"for two motorcycle gangs(different States)& I have found, with age,that
everything cannot be solved thru violence, because things aren't
going right for you.Thru experience, you will find, that MOST situations, can be defused by a little humor or calling one's bluff.
Unfortunately, you don't realise these things, until you get older.
All I'm saying is-Engage brain,before activating mouth!Just remember that suicide is a permanent solution,for a temporary
problem! Irish

Hey S,
You are digging yourself a hole here buddy. You are in a long distance relationship and you love her.
You told me about her situation and it is not ideal. So she slipped, she is young, vulnerable and human just like you. A drastic event to try to kill herself because of guilt.
Mate you should be supporting her and showing your love rather than beating yourself up. It is doing neither of you any good.
Life is always going to throw a few rough ones out of left field so it is a test of your character to get through it the best you can.
Don't let that love go buddy, hang on to it and do something to keep it.
