I remember a long time ago there was a discussion here about bumps that some guys just naturally have on their penises, often around the edge of the widest part of the head. For the life of me I can't remember what they were called. I think someone even gave a link to a site that showed a picture of them along with an article about them. Can anybody help me out here? There is a poor young virgin male at another site who is freaking out because he thinks he has genital warts, even though he has never had any sexual contact with others. He is being advised to see a doctor, and I agree with that completely. However, I thought it might ease his mind if he knew about these bumps that some guys just have also. Thanks!

I couldn't get that link to work for me, Steph. But I did do a search on pearly penile papules and found a bunch of other good sites, too. I passed them along to him. Hopefully he will not be quite so worried until he sees a doctor. Poor kid is afraid he's going to die of cancer. Thanks again for your help!

No problem. The link worked for me. It wasn't that interesting - more a close-up of the papules.

I hope the guy relaxes! :)

I was convinced I had genital warts for a couple of years and saw my GP. He assured me that the bumps along the shaft, which you might be able to see in my pics, were not harmful, but merely sebaceous glands. The ones around the head and just under he informed me were pearly penile papules as Steph mentioned, however there were about 3 that were located near the frenulum (narrow bit of foreskin connected to the underside of the head) that he thought were warts. After hundreds of dollars worth of medication that had no effect , I was finally able to see a dermatologist (after months waiting) who informed me that those also were pearly penile papules whose slightly unusual location were simply a normal human variation. I would advise this guy to see his GP, firstly, and if the GP suspects that not all is normal, make sure he sees a specialist before forking out for medication or surgery.

Thanks, Belial. I will pass that along. :)
