We took the two older munchkins to see the movie last night, and I must say, even funnier than the first. And SO much adult humor, more than the first, or at least more noticable. At one point, the puss in boots character even looks at Donkey and says, "You still look like an ass to me".

I recommend it to anyone who liked the first, kids or no. Our theater here has it on 3 screens, and the showing we went to was packed when we got in- 15 minutes early.

I went and left my kids with my husband! Lol But I loved it too. I didn't think it had more adult humor though, in fact I thought it had less. But it is probably much like the first one in that the more you watch it the more you catch that you missed the first time. And with kids you're bound to be watching it at least 50 more times! But it was a great movie. I can't wait until it comes out on DVD so my daughter can see it!

My wife and I went today and I agree, it was really funnier than the first ... but, for those that haven't been. Don't rush out at the last scene. There's some "wrap-up" footage you don't want to miss. :D :D

Kissy, I agree ... hurry up with the DVD. :)

Took my son today... it was the best movie I have seen in a long time... not to mention the fact that so little has been revealed that the main story ends up being a surprise :) I loved it.. my son loved it.. and I can't wait for the DVD.. hoping that the DVD will even have MORE extra footage.

This IS Eddie Murphy's calling... don't get me wrong.. he entertains me in most of the things he does.. but THIS medium is his best :)

FYI.. for anyone who plans on seeing this.. stay until AFTER the credits (like previously mentioned). I don't mean the Pics with the voice names.. I mean the ACTUAL rolling credits.. believe me... many leave early thinking the pics with voice names are the credits.. they aren't..

Very funny flick, well done animation. The moon setting on the ocean and the carriage ride to far far away were fantastic! But I have to disagree; it was just a step below the original movie. Maybe it was because the first was so original that I expected more from this one, I don't know.

I agree with Gilly, this one had much more adult humor than the first. "Come and visit the fairy godmother, where everyone has happy ending!" LOL! :)

The Beverly Hills parody was great as well.

Go out and see it! It was the funniest movie I have seen this year!

BIG- my hubby said the same about originality. Of course, once the first came out, there isn't a lot they can do to make it all new and completly original again, while still being the sequel.

I went back to see it again today with my older daughter, and did catch a few more things. Like at the end, when Shrek tries to crowd surf, and lands on the puppy.. right before he lands, you can see a puddle forming under the puppy. -weg- Or the Michael Jackson dancing. ;)

Nice catch!, I noticed that too! :)

I also found myself looking in the back ground a lot.

I sooo wanted Puss (in the last scene where he repays his debt) to say that his name was Enigo Mantoia and to prepare to die!

Don't know if the spelling is right, but remember the Spanish swordsman from the Princess Bride?

Wife and I went to see it last night and thought it was hilarious. And I was watching for the smallest puns and did see the puppy puddle.

I took my two little ones today. Cute, funny, good flick! YEAH! After taking them to Cat in the Hat I never wanted to step foot into another theatre! And yes, that is the last movie I saw in the Theatre.

IO so agree with you on that one, it was all I could think about whenever the cat was on screen.

I also liked the Lord of the Rings spoof right at the start, I also spotted the puppy puddle.

We went to the theater with another movie in mind which was sold out leaving only Shrek 2 open to watch...we looked around and saw 50,000 kiddies waiting in line and decided against it......
I'll wait on the DVD.

Just saw it. It had several LOL moments.

I didn't notice the puddle, though!

The Princess Bride quote would be cool. The character's name was spelled Indigo Montoya. In the movie, he was played by Mandy Patinkin.

I have yet to see Shrek 2 but both my s/o and I want to see it. I think its the matter of finding the time to watch it...that and the new Harry Potter movie which is coming out on Friday.
