Went to see Troy last night. Yes, I now, the swim to Turkey & back was a bitch, but...

Was shown this URL this afternoon. It's bascially the script, so if you dont' want spoiler, DON'T LOOK!

The film was a good piece of cinema, but for the purists ( who me?)

it had only a nodding in the hallway acquaintance with the Iliad.

LOL ... saw a recent interview with Brad Pitt where he was talking about in the real time period, the men wore all their armor above the waist and everything below the waist was free and easy ... can't imagine why they would want to not protect themselves in such a sensitive area!!! :)

From a ladies POV, I can't say I'd have minded the visual back then. ;) :hot:

Paris is practicing archery on a nice straw man nailed up to the wall. He hits bull's-eye after bull's-eye.

HELEN: Wow, I had no idea you were so good at this.

PARIS: Neither did I. Weird, isn’t it? And I really want lembas now.

HELEN: What?

*chuckles...snort...laugh*

LOL

Mr. Bloom looks angelic.

It's no Gladiator but I'll get it on DVD, I'm sure.

LIlith:

Movie was mostly OK. Wasn't quite expecting a war movie, but in this case not getting something I was expecting was good. I like going to movies knowing very little about them, and of course, it's hard not to know about the story of Troy.

Really liked the choreography in the fight between Achilles & Hector.
Disliked the homophobic script writing & directing.
Mildly annoyed that Cassandra's role was completely left out.
Also mildly annoyed that they started the story in the middle; they really should have, IMHO, done the feast of the gods that led to all of this, or at least mentioned it in passing.

FYI---I saw the actors showing at the films debut, the other night.
The commentor, mentioned Orlando. They said that the way that he was dressed at the debut, that he looked like a Pirate!I heard
someplace,that Brad Pitt,quit smoking & worked out,to buff up,for
his part,in the film.Jennifer will be happy & Sharni is getting her
gold coins(dubloons?)out now! Irish

gekko~Saw something on the Discovery Channel or the History Channel a week or so ago...said the directors, et al. didn't want to get into another "Clash of the Titans" scenario with gods hurling lightning bolts from mountaintops. Thus, they stayed clear of all godish references, etc.
