I just bought my first self-supporting stockings ever. And my first lovely little thong with the straps to hold up self-supporting stockings. But I CAN"T FOR THE LIFE OF ME figure out how they work. And I'm too embarrassed to call the store and ask the clerk how to work my lingerie. *blush*
Help?!

The self supporting ones can't be used with a garter belt, the little clips won't fit over em. Get non-elastic ones, they'll fit, they're more comfortable, and they look sexier with the belt. ;)

I have searched high and low for self-supporting or thigh-high ones, and being a large woman, it's been tough to find them. I finally found the self-supporting ones today, and I am determined to wear the garters with them.

You can keep trying, but the rubber on them is pretty thick. I learned the hard way by breaking one of my garter clips. Are the clips you have metal or plastic? If they're metal, you might have better luck, but I know the pastic won't hold without snapping.

I had the same problem with the self supporting stockings not working well with my garter belt. I ended up takin a short trip to an adult shop that sold novelty items and lingerie. They had the kind of stockings that weren't self-supporting and they do look much better than the self supporting ones ;)

if either of you can tell me where to find quality, plus-sized thigh-highs to wear (preferably in white) with my thong, please, let me know.
And I'm in Canada.

The best place I've ever found them is at the good le Wal-Mart. Most stocking companies make thigh highs up through queen size. The Hanes or Leggs brand sells them in black, white, nude, and navy, in packs of 3's. I have been anywhere from 145-175 while wearing the tall size, which is just below the queen size, and I'm 5'5", if that helps to judge what size might work best.
If you can't find any in the stocking dept of a department store, ask at the fitting room if they normally sell them, and if not, check around on line. Thankfully, thigh highs are fairly popular, and cheap, so finding the right type for you won't cost an arm and leg. ;)

Wait a minute,I'm closing my eyes and trying to get a mental picture of you in thigh highs.OOOOOHHHHH! sending chills down my spine. Now I'm picturing you hiking up your skirt to reveal a red and black lace garter riding on your left thigh. YUMMM!!!! More chills.

Just to help!I would suggest trying them on.I know that with jeans(for me),the difference in manufacturers(Brand)makes a BIG
difference.What fits using a certain manufacturer,won't fit,the same,with another one.They should,but they don't! Irish
try here. Ebay seems to have a plentiful supply.

Has anyone else found the self-supporting ones fall down sometimes? Is it something I did wrong?
Having the stockings fall down in a wrinkly pile around the ankles isn't the sexiest (unless it's him pushing them down).

Self supporting on me sticks like glue, and sometimes leaves a rash on my inner thighs where they rub against the rubber. If it's falling down, then your thigh may not be big enough to support that size. Try buying 1 size down, and see if they work. :)

I was going to add that if I don't wash my self supporting ones each time I use them, even if I just put them on and then change my mind then their stretched out and tend to try to slide. But I do use the self supporting ones with garter belts. However my clips are metal so that may be why it works so well.
