I'm wanting to buy a new digital camera and ran into a pretty good deal. Only thing is the dealer is based in Finland. The ads says full US warranty. I was just wondering if any of our folks have had any dealings with Finetronics.com????

I'll watch this for GOOD information before I comment Bear.

BigBear57,

I don’t purchase products from outside of the States. With you in the States, if the seller cashes your check in Finland, it could be difficult for you to get your money back. I’m not suggesting that that will happen, but if it does, you’ll have little recourse.

I’m uncertain that a warranty for a product sold in Finland would be legally enforceable in the States. In any case, the cost to you of any litigation will be far in excess of the purchase price.

I guess it boils down to the old adage... if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. .......Damn LOL

There are plenty of great grey market deals. Grey market warranties, however, have been notoriously difficult to deal with regardless of what the distributor says.

yes be very cautions of what you buy, i tried to send something back and it cost me more to send it back than it did to get the money back from buying it.

and this was a U.S. site too

hope whatever you decide that it works out for you,

btw this is my 500th post lol

BigBear, I'd probably avoid this 'deal'. Sounds a little risky.
