had a strange and distorted dream that mimics reality, without being reality?

I didn't sleep at all last night, so after I got Rae on the bus, I laid down for a nap, and slept for a bit over 2 hours. Anyway, in the dream, I was in a wedding, as was my dad. It was for my friends, the two who are getting divorced now.

I remember my dad having to go into a dentist just before hand, and then he disappeared because he didn't want to be in a wedding. I panicked, and went to tell my friend she couldn't get married. She was already pitching a fit, because she had to get married in order to get divorced, so when I told her the wedding was off, she started screaming and ranting and raving. Oddly enough, I've never seen her do that, and don't think she gets that way ever.

Anyway, she was cussing her would-be husband out pretty feirce, and I managed to tell her it was my dad missing, not her husband. Then she instantly calmed down, and shrugged, and said that didn't matter.

So, I go hunting around for my dad, and suddenly, the wedding and divorce are over, and everyone's gone. The church is empty (and weirdly shaped- it was like stadium seating at the movie theater), and I'm hunting around for my video camera. Then, I find the basement, and two dogs are sleeping on my camera, and some guy hires me to be a reporter.

Then my friend joined me, because it meant a move (you know, like a whole 2 blocks from her house, to the church basement).

hmm... Ok, so only the first part felt oddly based on reality. It all felt just too weird.

Was your night like this;

"(Last Night) I Didn't Get To Sleep At All"

(As recorded by the 5th Dimension)
TONY MACAULAY

Last night I didn't get to sleep at all, no, no
I lay awake and watched until the morning light
Washed away the darkness of the lonely night

Oh and last night I got to thinking maybe I, I, I
Should call you up and just forget my foolish pride
I heard your number ringing, I went cold inside
And last night I didn't get to sleep at all

I know it's not my fault, I did my best
God knows this heart of mine could use a rest
But more and more I find the dreams I left behind
Are somehow too real to replace

Oh last night I didn't get to sleep at all, no, no
The sleeping pill I took was just a waste of time
I couldn't close my eyes 'cause you were on my mind
And last night, I didn't get to sleep, didn't get to sleep
No I didn't get to sleep at all

But more and more I find the dreams I left behind
Are somehow too real to replace

Oh-oh last night I didn't get to sleep at all, no, no
The sleeping pill I took was just a waste of time
I couldn't close my eyes 'cause you were on my mind
And last night, I didn't get to sleep, didn't get to sleep
No I didn't get to sleep at all

No, no, no
No, no, no, oh
Last night I didn't get to sleep at all, no, no
Last night I didn't get to sleep at all, oh, oh-oh
Last night I didn't get to sleep at all, no, no.

Such a vivid dream Gilly! Wow! Was it you who said that the children or someone in your family was recently at the dentist?

It just sounds to me like you've been spreading yourself a bit thin lately. Your dreams are an expansion of your real life, no matter how odd a turn they take. Your dream has a lot of clues in it if you can sort them out. TY for sharing...and take a break hun! LOL!

Gilly,

Dreams are our way of playing "what if".

It's probably been playing in the back of your mind.
