Winter storm warnings today. Roads north and west of here are closed due to snow drifts. I should see crocus and Daffodils sometime in mid May :-(

I saw a bluejay yesterday, and the crocusses have been up for a week. The pussy willow is fuzzy and the forcythia's turning green! Horray!

The ice flows are pretty much gone from the lake and most of the ground is bare. It could disapear again, but it won't be too long now.:D
(maybe it will be time to transplant some berry bushes soon:rolleyes: )

It's getting better here... the snow is off the ground and the crocus are up... and it's going to stay above freezing tonight!
But I haven't put my winter coat away just yet... old man winter isn't done with us yet I'm sure!

My Narcissis bulbs all bloomed a couple of days ago and I am seeing cut daffodills in the store.Boxes of fresh strawberries to.The biggest sign though is the bags of all licorice jelly beans (YUM!) found in the Easter candy section along Dove eggs and PeePs bunnys. Oh yes, women are wearing a lot less clothes this time of year.(even better than liorice jelly beans.)

I'd show you my daffodils poking through the ground......but they are covered with snow again today! Poor robins flew in just in time to get snowed on! Yesterday they were mating and bobbing all around my yard........today I can't find them anywhere! And the chickadees can't find the feed I put out either! I even heard the spring peepers (little frogs that hang out in the trees) last evening but they prolly foroze to death today *SIGH*
OMG! There goes a snow plow! Lemme at that friggin weatherman/woman! Oh...and PF? Keep your f'in "lake effect" weather.....would ya please??? We get one more lake effect/artic blast/Canadian winds report.......I'M GONNA SCREAM!!!!!
*jumps off the snow laden soap box*
Oh well........you know what they say about March...dontcha?
In like an orangutan.......out like an emu! *shrugs* :D

My side of the lake WAS fine Lixy.:) We didn't have anything stupid enough to poke it's head up yet, but you COULD see the ground yesterday.:( It's that "stuff" from over the center line, about 45 miles straight out. Although my sinus' take a beating and all the Pollen wreaks havoc on me I find that the beauty of spring outweighs my weakness. It's my favorite time of the Year.
This is one of the Red Bud Trees that grow on the Company I work fors Property. I took this when it was raining (well..........sprinkling) and was surprized it came out as good as it did.
And lets not forget all the Little babies born around this time of Year. I hope to get some shots of the Red Tail Hawks that frequent my property. They are awesome to watch.

DB... I said it before, and I'll say it again... you have a special eye for beauty and an astounding ability to capture what you see on camera....totally amazing!
Soulminer... that is really a neat photo. Stirs up some emotions.
Lilith... Thanks to CGT, I have become a lover of Irises! Those are another variation that I have never seen before!
One of my classes this quarter is web programming, and we have to build a web site writing in code only.. (YIKES). If none of you mind, I would like to do a themed site that includes nature photography - well, not the normal "nature" that we see at Pixies, but the "outdoors" variety.. lol! (You all know what I mean... :D :D )
Can I use these pictures on it? Pretty please??? :D

Wouldn't they look good together??? All say that they are rebloomers, but with our short season, I am not sure about that. Hopefully this weekend, if it is nice and not severe weather we are going to start preparing a bed for them babies.. !!!!

Very beautiful pictures sweet cowgirl. At my last place I had a dark room all set up and enjoyed taking pictures. Now with the computer doing all the work (althought it is still takes talent to get the great images that can be designed), but still with film it takes a good photographer and a good set up to get the perfect picture. (By the way cowgirltease, if you would like to model for some very very private pictures, I'll take you into the dark room and help feel, I mean help you develope.
