Lots of places are giving a free stuff to soothe the whallop!

I know Subway is giving out cookies.

How do places in your area ease the ouch???

Subway's cookies rock.

For us, (or rather, the kids) tax day means a dentist visit in an hour for the two oldest kids. Then it means an eye visit for the oldest one.

Hmmmmm... The only thing I know of is some Post Offices stay open until 11 so your paperwork is postmarked today.

Whether you owe taxes or are getting a refund, every April 15th in the USA, if you have an income, you have to file a tax form claiming (showing proof of) your anual income, before midnight...Musketeer! If you owe, you should send them a check or request an extension. If you are getting a refund, they will mail you a check in about 4-8 weeks. You can file electronically yourself and/or you can have a CPA (certified public accountant) do your return for you or if you so choose. You can fill out your own form if you are tax savvy (up on ALL the latest tax laws that differ from the previous year).

But, no matter what...the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) will NOT look kindly on an income producing citizen (or in some cases...non-citizen) if you don't file something on or before April 15th! If you owe and don't file, it's a matter of time before the penalties and interest makes you homeless...and the IRS could care less what the circumstance! You don't file...you are a marked man/woman!

We have until the end of April to file. I must admit I get a certain amount of sick pleasure knowing that I get to enjoy my cake (b-day cake, that is ;) ) while all you Americans are rushing around to the post office :p
