With all the fuss over Mel Gibson's new film the makers of Monty Python's The Life of Brian have decided to rerelease it in the US!!
I've got the film on DVD and love it!!.........soooooo funny

Monty Python said The Life of Brian spoofed Bible films and intolerance
Monty Python's film The Life of Brian is to return to US cinemas next month following the success of The Passion of the Christ.
The Biblical satire will be re-released in Los Angeles, New York and other US cities to mark its 25th anniversary.

Adverts will challenge Mel Gibson's blockbuster with the lines "Mel or Monty?", "The Passion or the Python?"

Distributor Rainbow said it hoped the film would "serve as an antidote to all the hysteria about Mel's movie".

The Life of Brian follows a Jewish character from Nazareth who is worshipped as the Messiah then crucified by Romans.

It was condemned as blasphemous before its original release, although Monty Python said it was intended as a spoof on Bible films and intolerance rather than Christianity.

The film could not be completed until former Beatle George Harrison stepped in to finance it after EMI Films withdrew, fearing it was too controversial.

Rainbow president Henry Jaglom said: "We decided this is an important time to re-release this film, to provide some counter-programming to The Passion."

He said the surviving members of the Monty Python comedy team "all agreed this was a good time" to bring back the film and would help promote it.

Mr Jaglom, whose partner John Goldstone produced the original film, said trailers for the comedy would start to appear in cinemas on Good Friday.

Oh how fantastic! I am a huge Monty Pyton fan, and though the Holy Grail will always be my favorite, I enjoy the Life of Brian as well. I bought the movie when we got our DVD player, cause I had seen it and loved it, and now to see it on a big screen? :)

This is certainly good news.Count me in as a Monty Python fan. Always loved Terry Gilliam's movie BRAZIL.(Although not really a Python movie.)

Oh well done! The only way to counteract something being taken much too seriously...

And now for something complelely different.

And Jesus said to Mary Magdeline, after getting a makeover, "How do you like my nails?"

Oh well - so much for lame humour....

YES!!! Long live Monty Python! The world today sure could use more humor in it! I hope that people see it for the comedy genius that it is! If it is released in my area, I know where I'll be!

The irreverent humor of Cleese and staff has always been, for me, comic relief in a world that takes itself and everything in it w-a-a-a-y-y-y too seriously.

Grab those coconuts and let's begin the crusade.

Hey, maybe they will include some of the deleted scenes.
The first deleted scene was titled "sheep"...

Speaking of irreverrent...does anyone remember "Wholly Moses" with Dudley Moore? There was a scene where Lot's wife was turned into a pillar of salt. They seasoned the food by scraping a little salt off of her.

Funniest most irreverent thing I ever saw was on Mad TV. It was Prince of Egypt spoof...but with Prince:p He parted a pair of legs like the Red Sea. :D:D:p

On a seperate note - I'm staying at a hotel in Brighton next week which is generally known as Fawlty towers - the food is terrible, the staff are all foreign and most can't speak english, and the restaurant manager chases after the spanish waiters shouting at them! The rooms have peeling wallaper, shower attachemnts that don't work etc .....last time I sat downon the toliet in the ensuite and bloody fell off cos it wobbled so much.............
