According to a study sponsored and conducted by Gillette, both men and women prefer the clean-shaven look to moustaches, goatees, beards, or stubble. Among women, 48% preferred their men clean-shaven, and indicated that they perceive such men to be more honest and sexier than men who choose to keep some form of facial hair. Gillette revealed that 45% of men routinely go clean-shaven, which is about equal to the number of women who prefer that look (Source: Happi, November 2003, page 16). The remaining 52% of women were divided on their degree of acceptance and perception of men's facial hairstyles.

My guy has a full beard which he keeps trimmed... I love it, wouldn't have him any other way.

I think some guys really suit a beard and some don't.
A little bit like how some women look better with short hair, and some suit long.
For me, I prefer whatever looks best on the guy in question. I'd rather be tickled by a beard than ripped to shreds by a guy with a lot of stubble any day.

I love goatees! It's one of the things I envy about men - they can trim it up, let it grow and change their style immediately.
I haven't laughed with my guy's goatee, WI. I wonder why your wife was laughing?

Maybe my mustache and your guy's goatee don't hit the same spots? I'll be over as soon as it grows in. In the name of research, of course. It'll be very clinical. I might even leave my bib and miner's cap at home.

I love the stubble on my man, so sexy, but then again when he is freshly shaved his face is so soft and smooth and that is sexy too. I have to agree with Loulabelle it definitely suits some men. I really have no preference either way.

"stubble"? Is that like the half a dozen hairs I rub off my chin once a week? :D

Have had a goatee since I was 21. I shaved it off once about 4 years ago, hated my face bare and grew it right back.

I like my goat-tee and mustache (short and neat) but wish I could shave the rest of my body smooth. I know a lot of women love hair, and I have chest hair and leg hair etc. but I prefer smooth... just something "sensual" about it.
Too much to shave though... lol... and it would just keep growing back.

When I met my wife I already had a beard (grew it at 16). She bugged me for YEARS to shave it off. Finally, one day without telling her ahead of time, I did. When she walked in the door I surprised her and the first thing she said was...
OMG...put it BACK!
Haven't shaved it since, but I do keep it well trimmed.

Nope, I can't stand facial hair on men. It's almost always ugly and, yes, makes me feel I can't trust them. HOWEVER........ Viggo Mortenson as Aragorn in LOTR is Sooooooo sexy with that "rough 'n' tough" look!!!!! :D
